Watching Ready Player One.

So many pop culture references.

One of them is Robotron arcade game in 1982.

I used to spend all day at the arcade back then after my high school classes.

I don't remember Robotron.

Life is shit for many people. However I felt more sympathy for the residents of areas where the illegal immigrants flooded into and demanded resources and services. Those poor areas of Italy seemed overwhelmed.

We already have homeless and other poor in our countries. I can't see every country accommodating every person or family that comes to their borders. Especially when they won't assimilate. I would side with those who are shown protesting against immigrants.

Show was depressing. Germany is committing societal suicide.

Watched "The Mountain between Us" (2017) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mo...tween_Us_(film) Idris Elba and Kate Winslet play the two lead roles in a mountain airplane crash film. Two dogs played the one dog in the movie - who had the next largest role. I felt more in common with the dog as I felt the two humans would kill and eat it as food shortage hit home. Felt worse when a cougar appeared and the dog went after it, thought for sure he was cat food.

Rest of the movie was fine. Elba and Winslet are great actors. I give it 3.5 out of 5.

Kind of surprised that Rotten Tomatoes only gave it a 48% like. Lots of people said there was a chemistry problem between the two human leads. Since I was more interested in the dog, I guess I liked the movie more. Would have liked the movie more if they ate the dead pilot (small role for Beau Bridges), cuz I believe I would have certainly thought about it.

Becky his friend's girlfriend tells him it could be an imp as that is apparently the way to trap fairies. Brian opens the jar on air and over the next few days strange things start to happen that slowly start to get more sinister

Alien Code. An Indie Film made on a shoestring budget about a man who finds a dead body in his house and from that, all manner of Government and Alien shenanigans ensues.
If there's any justice in the world, everyone involved in this should be destined for stardom. It's brilliant.

If you like these kind of films...and I love them, then this is the site to find them. I heartily recommend Grave Encounters as well as Gifts From Strangers. Just remember you're mostly watching films made on a 30 dollar budget.

I just re-watched Salt for the 3rd time.

So is Salt a Russian sleeper agent or not?

You have all those flashback scenes showing kids being trained to become sleeper agents and the scene where the Russian guy told Salt, when she was still a kid right before she was put into an American foster home: this is the last time you will see me. When you grow up you will go to Princeton and work for the CIA.

So she grew up, got a job as an agent at the CIA, and had a change of heart? She faked the assassination of the Russian President and she killed all the other Russian sleeper agents on the docked ship, after they murdered her husband in front of her by drowning him.

I don't think her husband dying is what turned her to become good because the fake assassination of the Russian President was before her husband dying.

Then after that she tried to save the U.S. President and she stopped her boss at the CIA, who was also another Russian sleeper agent, from launching nuclear missiles.

I also don't think she was turned by the CIA as an agent and was a double agent because the way the CIA was chasing her, they were truly convinced she was a Russian agent who infiltrate the CIA and they didn't know she was actually one of the good guys.

I guess what I am asking is when did she become a good guy or has she always been a good guy even when she was being trained as a Russian sleeper agent?

Korean horror/gothic film, now showing on Netflix. Not going to scare the real horror fan, but this is a beautifully made movie, well acted well photographed-- the Koreans are making a lot of really good movies.

This was a real treat, with a rather complex plot, some places you thought the plot was going and then didn't, and then did. Its also got a very good depiction of some of Korean shamanistic practices, which look a lot like native American in some ways.

A really pleasant surprise. Particular kudos to a child actress who's really really good, something I've been moved to say just about . . .never
