I have seen the Watergate Girls loops edited and re-edited in so many compilations and I have seen the cover boxes of the loops from number 1 to number 5, but never of number 6.

There is another Watergate Girls loop called "The dating game" which is a lesbo-duet between the brunettes from WG loops #2 and #5. [The brunette in "Watergate Girls 2 - Surprise package" can also be seen in "Pretty Girls 17 - Super tits" while the other girl is called Vivian Thomas and can be seen in "Pretty girls 7 - Big Dick I" and "Pretty Girls 9 - Big Dick III"].
I have always thought this was the sixth and last loop of the WG serie.

Blue Vanities gives number 7 in the Watergate Girls catalogue to this Holmes-less loop (the only one in the WG serie) but they are not always 100% reliable. Since I have only seen the same loop with the cute blonde girl, sometimes re-edited, sometimes called WG 1 and sometimes WG6, I have always thought that it was just a mistake on the back cover picture and so the 6th loop was not another one with the blonde girl but "the dating game" instead.

But now I learn that the elusive 2nd blondie loop is supposed to exist and be called "Take me" (source??) so I'm a bit confused.
I believe sooner or later the picture cover of WG loop #6 will surface to stop these speculations.

Anyway, after all this useless talking, here's another John Holmes loop that I believe has never been posted before

My copy of the first loop has a bit more footage than Bygoneguy's; and you will see that number 6 is really nothing more than a re-editing of the bj sequence of the first loop, although there is some additional preliminary footage. This is similar to what was done in a number of the early "adult cinema" loops, where the director/editor simply re-spliced footage of the same scene together to make a second loop.

With respect to the number of original loops in the series, there is (as far as I can tell) 8 Watergate Girl loops: the 7 mentioned above plus an eighth loop, a b/g scene which replaces Holmes with a different guy and a blonde girl. It is not one of the more interesting of the series. Enjoy.

Thank you lazarus2, your versions of these loops are very similar to mine, perhaps I might have also some slightly longer edits though with loops it isn't always easy to tell when a loop has extra footage or is perhaps just running a little bit slower.
Yet I'm still not 100% convinced that these are 2 separate loops.

Well I don't think that's technically correct but of course I may be wrong.
Right now "Adult Cinema" loops are my main interest here on vef, I plan to start a thread dedicated to AC, its various sub-labels, the relations with Pendulum, Caballero, Color Climax, Ed Wood Jr etc...

Anyway I don't recall something similar to the case of these 2 Watergate Girls loops in any other serie that I know.
What we have here is the very same footage (with a little bit of extra) used in 2 different loops of the same serie.

Yes, there are many examples in the Adult Cinema catalogue of longer loops split in 2 parts and sold separately but that is not the very same footage on the 2 loops if you know what I mean. A bit like Tarantino's movie "Kill Bill" for example.

Sure there are many cases in which a loop gets "re-branded" and republished with another title, box cover and serie. Color Climax Corporation has done it plenty of times and Adult Cinema has collaborated with them a lot exchanging and republishing (and refurbishing) loops.

Again what we have here with this anomalous sixth Watergate loop is something completely different. It's like an hypothetical third chapter of "Kill Bill" made for 90% with scenes from the second one and a little bit of extra footage.

Also we shall keep in mind that these loops were quite expensive at the time, usually 50$ to 100$ each in the seventies; I guess I would have felt a bit ripped-off if I purchased these 2 Watergate loops (#1 & #6)

So for me the "Watergate Girls affair" isn't closed yet...

... especially if you tell me that there is an alleged 8th loop to the serie :O

As an addendum to my last post on this thread, I am also presenting a second version of Watergate Girls 6; this appears under the title "Sweet Sue" in the BV catalog. The quality is very poor, but there is something quite different about the bj sequence as you will see: there is clearly some different editing going on here, using a second camera. hence at the end of the loop, we get the concluding cumshot from a different angle. Of course, the run time on this version is much longer, but this is principally due to the slow frame rate of the BV version.

I agree completely. Usually, when splicing footage of the same scene into two loops, the only part that is normally duplicated verbatim is the cumshot sequence, although sometimes from a different camera angle, as appears in the "Sweet Sue" version above. There is a lot more duplication present in Watergate Girls 6, but then, as we know, the loop market was totally a buyer beware arrangement in the 1970's. So perhaps the folks that shot this scene just didn't much care? Hard to know, although the Adult Cinema group did re-use footage a lot more than most producers (assuming they are the source of the Watergate Girls series, which is another subject).

With respect to Watergate Girls 8, I will post that loop shortly under a new thread in the appropriate forum. I look forward to gsport72's Adult Cinema thread!

very exciting direction in which this is going! the cinema classics loops were the breeding ground, and the adult cinema loops including 8mm labels from fanny films to garter girls...and yes, great to see kama sutra identified! the subtitled loops were very likely penned by ed wood, as well as box-cover summaries.

it does look like another series related to Cinema Classics/Adult Cinema. the headboard and ship painting in WG 6 both ring a bell.

no doubt kama sutra #5 Japanese Bath is an adult cinema/cinema classics loop (produced or at least distributed by noel bloom). the sparse subtitles (8 lines totalling 21 words) are likely written by ed wood.

The End graphic is in the characteristic font of the larger family of Bloom loops, ultimately coming together as Swedish Erotica.
