I would try exporting the whole thing from QT Pro to DV, then importing the DV file into iMovie.

I finally discovered what I was doing wrong. I was trying to do the edit in iMovie Clips; once I used Timeline it was fine.

I've managed to "fix" a Sandra Brust clip.

Time you went to OSX, mate! (No defrag necessary with OSX.)

Thx for the advice but, believe it or not, my 1998 grey G3 simply refuses to die. It works like a Swiss clock!
Since OS X is too big for my G3 I'm stuck with OS 9.2.
But with a "modern" Net browser like ICab I have 90% of what owners of recent computers have...
Hence my presence here on VEF! ;-)

I can believe it - my SE30 would probably crank right up! Macs are beautifully built.

Still, you should go ahead and spring for a new one. OSX is truly fabulous.

Yes.
Norton Utilities - Speed Disk [version 6.04]
May still be available at used mac outlets such as megamacs.com

TechTool Pro 3

As a work-around:
You can copy your hard drive to an equal or greater sized hard drive.
That will de-frag your data.
Simple drag and drop copy works with OS9...not so with OSX

Your Beige G3 natively will support hard-drives to 128GB.
Add on PCI ATA cards are still available that will give you unlimited internal drive size support
_________
edit
oops...just saw the 'freeshare' word...no such animal that was worth a damn ever existed.
A copy of Norton Utilities should cost you $10 or so.

I've been on Apple Macs since the early 90s and in those days Norton Utilities (Norton Disk Doctor/Speed Disk) was amongst my favourite tools for classic Mac OS. Because running it from the Norton startup CD was far too slow, i used to run Norton Utilities from a (backup) copy of my startup volume on an external SCSI HD. Getting a evaluation copy shouldn't be a problem imo..
