Each to their own in regarding pubic hair. There is plenty of debate as to whether it is healthy or not to have it shaved or unshaved. To some extent, this will apply to men too. It may well be about personal hygiene at the end of the day. But for women, consider this; The garments they wear these days, I'm talking of bikini's/G strings and the like, are made a lot smaller and show more of the woman then in 'The olden days'. If you look at these pics, these are one of the main reasons why women shave their pubic area.

We may like to see an abundance of hair, but if women choose to go on the beach wearing something skimpy, then it is highly likely that they will shave their pubic area's to suit.

I think the porn industry as well in a lot of cases, require the women to shave the majority, if not all of the pubic area. So the viewer can 'See' more.

Regarding an attack of crabs, that is not just restricted to the pubic area. They attach themselves to body hair alone and can even live on your eyebrows and lashes, but you wouldn't be shaving them would you?

Pubic hair goes in and out of fashion. At the moment its shaven pubes but in a few years time, who knows.

The subject of why we have pubic hair has been on my mind for years. Then a few months ago it came to me in the shower. Pubic hair is where it is so that soap or body wash will foam up and get that area cleaner. The hair acts as a way for air to mix with the soap to bubble up getting the area really clean.

There is a plan, it is just not yours.

To each his own. Nothing perhaps, even race, separates us more as a species than does our sexual preferences. IMO, humans are works in progress. Structurally we have changed over the millions of years. I know that there are mistakes and also grooming issues.
The mistakes would be the extra bone that runs along side the foot that serves no purpose, or the appendix, or wisdom teeth. The most obvious in the grooming realm is hair and nails. Had I not clipped my pubes, my hair would have overtook my penis decades ago, along with the hair growing out of my ears, nostril, and brows. Fingernails/toenails serve a purpose, but can you imagine if you never clipped them? So maybe it is our society AND mechanical advancements that are ahead of our natural evolution, which allows us to "maintain" our appearance ( to whatever degree we choose).
So given this, I dont buy any argument that espouses a universal and absolute resolve on the necessity of pubic hair as either an adjunct to personal hygiene or bacteria fighting.
I also don't equate pubic hair with maturity, I dont know how any thinking person could. Women get pubes by 13, but they are still socially children.
We are creatures of habit and tend to embrace the customs of the peoples we grow up with. Those are usually hard normalcy's to shake.
On a more personal level, as hard as I try, I cannot equate hair with intimacy. I dont want to root thru a bush to get to my favorite part, nor do I want my view obscured, nor do I want hair as dental floss.

I'm not sure I understand the fascination either way. There's about half a dozen "hairy bush" (and the like) topics on the first two pages of the Vintage Erotica Talk board, so we can't say it's an under-represented interest, not to mention the fact that members here prefer vintage porn, where we'll see a lot more pubic hair as part of the viewing experience.

But I certainly don't pick out my women or porn based on the amount or thickness of pubic hair. I'm not here for the express intent of seeing hairy bush. It's just there or it isn't, and I don't get worked up either way. My wife will go periods of time where she lets things happen naturally, as far as bushiness goes, and it doesn't bother me at all. She has times where she feels like shaving, and that doesn't bother me, either.

What I don't care for is when people push their attitudes on others, by making their own preferences the yard stick for what is either normal or aberrant. "If you like shaved pussy, then you're really just a pedophile, since young girls don't have public hair!" I suppose by the same token, then, that having a preference for small breasts or slim women without much of a figure also indicates a desire for under-aged girls? How presumptuous can you get?
