Is it just me, or are the "Lurkers" growing in numbers by the day?

Default Ignorance in supermarkets

As well as impoliteness, queue jumping and the like, ignorance covers inexperience of life. I was served recently at Sainsburys by a teenaged yoof (at least he was polite and meant well) who couldn't cope with the two leeks I wanted to buy in order to make leek and potato soup.

I thought the computer was playing up until he turned to his supervisor and asked:

''What are these?''

He had never seen a leek before.

God help me, but Jamie Oliver is actually on to something. We have bred a new generation who literally do not know where their food comes from. That isn't their fault. It is ours.

Sorry I am wandering off the point. But then again, am I. In my old age will I be posting on a thread like this to say ''you cant get fresh fruit and vegetables''?

Hey type for yourself as that generation`s got nothing to do with me or anyone else , plus it sounds in his case it was less a lack of education and more a missing frontal lobe.

Also thanked you as the post was entertaining , but totally disagree with the opinion concerning Jammie as that guys never been right about anything in his life. Well except when he eventually decides to exhale that final breath as he`ll have my full backing on that, still returning to the subject at hand

Man alive who on this sinking Isle doesn`t know what a leek is

I mean don`t they teach history in schools anymore ? , what about the scallion struggle of 69 ?

Tell me did Vagina Regina and Richard Less die in vain !!!

Least we forget

Default Who on this stinking Isle doesn't know what a leek is?

I wish I was making it up but I don't have that much creative imagination. Sad to say, I really don't think the lad scrapes his knuckles on the floor as he walks along. Where one doesn't know, can we be certain that all the others do?

As for Jamie Oliver I had a funny feeling I might be out on a limb there. I don't mind that others do not agree. It isn't that I worship at his altar like some I know, but I merely say that on this one specific issue I think he has a point. If an infinite number of monkeys hammer on an infinite number of typewriters...

Glad my post entertained you, Greenskull

... and added to the impoliteness and general rudeness is a baffling inability to LISTEN!

Regular conversation with a yoof serving in my local fish & chip shop ...

Me: "Two fish & chips, and a fish on it's own please."
Yoof (putting the first fish & chips on a tray and picking up the salt shaker): "Do you want salt & vinegar on that?"
Me: "No thanks ... no salt & vinegar on any of them."
Yoof (putting the second fish & chips on a tray and picking up the salt shaker): "Do you want salt & vinegar on that?"
Me: "No thanks ... no salt & vinegar on ANY of them."
Yoof (putting the last fish on a tray and picking up the salt shaker): "Do you want salt & vinegar on that?"
Me: "Actually, I don't think I will!"

Is it me?
