What's the price of a packet of fags (Cigarettes) in Australia? In the Uk it's getting on for about 8 pounds (Sterling) for a pack of 20..

I stopped because I only smoked when I went to the pub and when the smoking ban came into force, standing outside in the freezing rain in November clutching a cigarette suddenly lost it's appeal.

Happy enough (I think) you are still allowed to take your drink outside with you? Not in Netherlands. You have to leave it inside. Unattended. Not funny..

I saw my brother buy a pack for A$ 17,-- and he thought it was normal. I thought it was insane

That reminds of a story my grandad told me of when he was on leave during ww1. Apparently if soldiers went to the toilet they would spit in their beer so that no one else would drink it. According to my Pop, beer was in such short supply that (in his words) 'yer'd come back from the shouse and sum flamin' mongrel had drunk it on yer anyways...so I started stickin' me old feller in it. They didn't touch it then.'
I don't know it's true (Pop was a great embellisher) but it made me laugh.

Day 4, well almost, last Saturday night we did have 1 cigar each after dinner... Then it started, no signs of either of us caving in, yet.

But nobody gets it, here, when the bet is over, I am starting again period. I don't need advise on how too stop, any idiot can do that, all ya gotta do is nothing, simple, no cigarette to be lit up. I only need to cope with going nuts without gum, patches etc. I am going nuts
