Are women wearing underwear less often nowadays?

If you do a GOOGLE search, you will also find more upskirts photos of other famous women with no underwear (or see thru underwear) underneath including some you won't expect like Emma Watson.

Do a lot of women nowadays wear no underwear underneath their dresses, skirts, pants, shorts, etc?

When I was single, (for 20 years before I'd finally got married), I did my share of chasing women at singles night clubs til the wee of the early mornings.

I never met one woman who wore no underwear underneath their dresses, skirts, pants, shorts, etc.

Times must have changed or something.

We must run in different circles as I've known a few women who don't like to wear underwear. But in Anne's case (if thats Anne) something else may be going on. With many women at high society galas it often works out that they wear nothing underneath if underwear will show through the fabric of what they're wearing. Hope that makes sense. Some fabrics will show a bra strap or panty which can detract from the gown they're wearing so the designer will often ask them to forego the offending underwear.

It all just depends on the fabric and the gown's designer mostly.

There are TONS of seamless undergarments designed specifically for the purpose of not being seen. There are also linings that can be sewn in. So I dont buy the statement about they types of fashion negating the usage of underwear, as a whole.
Panties are bacteria magnets, so I see the reason for abandoning them, especially in the short-term, but not when their monthly visitor arrives.

Well, then I guess I'd suggest you start investigating the fashion industry because I can guarantee (and I use that term precisely) you this is a fashion consideration for many women (many women I've lived with and gone out with). I can't tell you how many times I've been helping a lady dress and I'll get the question, "Can you see this (bra or panty strap) and when I say "yes" they're off to get rid of them or change the dress.

And I know I'm not alone. Shoot, watch just about any show on the Style network and I'm sure you'll see the same.

Respectfully, you are not really saying anything. My point is there are choices for women who wish to wear items underneath their high fashions to replace the bumps and wrinkles caused by conventional underwear. Fashion is Expensive, especially when those items don't get worn often or repeatedly.
So I cant imagine a woman would by an expensive item only to discard it over a little thing like a bump, when she has the option to correct that in other ways besides going commando'. But in any event, Runway is not real life. Its a highly expensive and orchestrated show down to the last detail. Those models get paid 10K a day to be paid hangars. The designers want them skinny, skinny, skinny, so that the clothes hang freely on them to best exhibit the design, movement, and materials.

Well, clearly, you must not know very many women who are into fashion. I'm no expert but I've gone out with enough of them to know that, at certain events, panty lines and bra straps are unacceptable. And pieces that are supposed to be designed to hide those things don't work especially with some gowns.

So its apparent you didn't actually read the Cosmo article (who certainly know more about womens fashion than I) which stated,

"Commando Perks
Skipping your undies has practical advantages. First, you eliminate that dreaded wardrobe woe, visible panty lines."

So if you want to argue with someone, argue with them. I've gone out with several hundred women in my younger days and to some of them, fashion is important. And its actually fun, at times, to watch them deal with it. I have no doubt whatsoever this is true. Anyone that says its not has no idea what they're talking about.

And some clothes do not "hang freely". Some dresses hug a womans body tightly and some fabrics, when hugging a womans body tightly, are prone to showing any little defect or piece of underwear.

Go talk to a designer, they'll set you straight. Or, turn on "Sex in the City" for a while. You'll get the idea.
