Jeremiah Johnson: no animals or birds were harmed in the making of this movie. They merely barbequed some of the extras.

Please look at the post. I did not post this but my post was in reaction to another post. The Earp's were no better than the Clanton's except they wore badges and have been romanticized by the media. The Earp's had interests in brothels, saloons, and casinos they were just cast in a good light by the media of the time. A lot like Bat Masterson, Wild Bill Hickok, and several other supposedly famous lawmen and outlaws.

Am I the only person who found it hard to believe a woman could out draw a man with the weapon they show her using? I have nothing against women portrayed as gunfighters but the gun they showed her with weighs around four pounds. Now a man is usually stronger than most women but not all. So logic dictates that she will draw slower than most men. Of course there is the caveat of placing the shots properly. Many people died who drew faster but were not accurate. I don't know I just couldn't get in to this one. Not only that but almost every verified gunfight took place about ten feet apart. No where has it been proven that the stereotypical meet at high noon at 40-50 feet ever took place.

There have been questions about Jesse James death. Even though circumstantial evidence seems to support James death there are some conflicting view points. One is that Ford and James staged the killing to allow Jesse to become a normal citizen. Even so Jesse James was not a Robin Hood of the West but a murdering, back shooting thief.

There are a couple of things that do not ring true though. The Apaches were not idiots and used cover and stealth to attack their foes. The charge at the end of this movie would not have happened based on their proven tactics. IT was a good movie though even if not that realistic, typical Hollywood stuff

The US Navy Colt weighs 42oz, which is just over 2.5 lbs or 1.1kgs. That not much more than a bag of sugar. The key area of strength would lie in the hands and wrists. If a woman is strong enough to throttle someone, she's strong enough to be as fast and as accurate with a pistol (they aren't accurate weapons anyway) as any man.

I'm a man, and plenty of women are stronger than me. A lot depends on your lifestyle and what you do for a living.

Geronimo

Geronimo was a butcher murdering women, children and occasionally men, however he was no worse than some Americans such as Colonel Chivington (nits make lice). Since those such as Chivington did not face charges it is only fair (surprising considering the times) that such as Geronimo did not.

In fact not so, Goyathlay or Goyahkla was not called Geronimo till much later in the Apache wars against Mexico and later Texas.
His Sad war was instigated by the Murders of his wife, 4 children and his Mother by Mexican Military.
At no point in History would one consider a leader such as he as a butcher but rather a Freedom Fighter in quite rightly defence of his peoples Tribal Lands.
