Just found this on YouTube. Rather nice for a sleazy strip!

I shared this on the Traditional Striptease thread, wondered if it would be of use here too. I'd love to find a proper recording of this track. As a drummer, this kind of music really speaks to me. As fun to play as it is to listen to. Of course, as a red blooded male, it speaks to me as well!

I think that's a Carry On films special - kind of a "royalty free" version of "The Stripper". Just had a Google about and I can't find a version of it without dialogue either. I've also been looking for a dialogue free version of Zita's music from the Steptoe and Son movie with no luck. Seems they never released soundtrack albums for these movies.

As for Zita's music, I shall investigate! It is a great scene, and Carolyn Seymour is a natural! Her strip scene in The Ruling Class is phenomenal too! |

Well, I have spent the last few hours searching, and can only find 3 instances of the "Stripper Theme" by Eric Rogers anywhere. They are in Carry On Behind, Carry On Emmanuel and Doctor In Trouble.
I have, therefore, decided to attempt to mix all 3 into a full track! The quality differs slightly in each of the versions, as well as there being some variations in drum beat. However, so far they have overlaid perfectly, with the sections of dialogue being at different points in the track. So, with any luck, I should be able to get a decent length loop out of them. I'll put it on "the tube" when I'm done, so that you can all share it. |

Did you spot that the stripper's outfit is exactly the same as Carolyn Seymour's in the Steptoe movie? Just looks like the dress is a shade paler. *edit* Speaking of the Steptoe movie, I've been doing some research and I'm 90% certain that Zita's striptease theme was composed by Roy Budd. He's credited as contributing to the soundtrack and he is known for his jazz work. However despite trolling the internet and finding loads of his work, Zita's theme doesn't seem to be available as a stand alone recording anywhere at all Hopefully identifying the composer might help someone else track it down. "Toys in the Attic" is a new one on me. I managed to find some samples and the striptease music sounds very nice! ;-) Unfortunately its not downloadable from Amazon (only iTunes, and I'm very anti-Apple!)
