When she came onscreen in The House That Dripped Blood (1971), I thought, she looks pretty cool. Or hot. There was something temperature-related about her, at any rate.

A search revealed she was mentioned only once on Vintage Erotica, and that was in the "RIP thread," when she died in 2014 at the age of seventy-eight. "Oswald" provided this obituary revealing some career highlights.

It may be fitting for the membership to become a bit more acquainted with Joanna Dunham.



Her husband in the horror flick was played by Denholm Elliott.

Ms. Dunham's specialty was Brit TV, and her movie roles were scarce. That translated to fewer opportunities for her to consider shedding more apparel. (Now she is gone, and the world will never be privy to her physical charms in the way most of us appreciate most. I ask you, is that fair?)

A quick note about Stephanie Bagshaw, whom I ran into while preparing another post; it appears she has been bypassed on Vintage-Erotica, making her worthier of at least brief mention.



It does not appear show biz has opened many doors to the blond actress, as she has appeared in few productions during a career spanning around a decade.

Seems her big role and near-debut was in a 1995 TV show called The Biz (which may be somewhat à propos, given how that biz can be unforgiving), as a teenager in a drama school. "Fame" seems to have been the inspiration. Who does not want to live forever?



I noticed her and her cleavage from her near swan song appearance, 2001's Dr. Terrible's House of Horrible, in the episode entitled, "Scream Satan Scream!" She plays an "innocent and virginal" good Christian victimized by an opportunistic witch-finder.



It must be frustrating when the calls stop coming, even when a performer has a track record, the looks, and the ability. Why do some who are equally or even less blessed make it, and others don't? When the dice are rolled, I ask you, does it have to come up Craps?

Wendigo's pictures from 2013 are no more. Let's take a closer look at Carol Royle's thespian sis. I have also prepared this other post for Carol.



This brief bio states: "She is an actress, known for Miss Marple: At Bertram's Hotel (1987), Two Deaths (1995) and Doctors (2000)."


In 2006, Amanda appeared in the play, Larkin With Women, underneath Oliver Ford Davies.



As with sister Carol (above, at left), Amanda was generous in allowing for a peek at her secrets of feminine loveliness. The scene is over in a flash, and not much may be made out, but she graciously revealed both top and bottom.



The views are from Nicolas Roeg's Two Deaths (1995), starring Sônia Braga, playing the housekeeper of employer Michael Gambon; the film sounds like an effective psychological study that goes deeply into matters of morality. In the midst of a revolution, Gambon makes his obsession for Braga known to a dinner table of his guests. They then open up as well. Amanda plays the wife of one of the guests, played by Patrick Malahide. (I believe the nude scene shows her getting ready for the dinner.)



Unlike sister Carol, who is still going strong in the performing profession, Amanda figured it was time to seek out other pastures. She is now working as a psychotherapist. Her professional site begins with a very pretty portrait as she currently appears. Amanda explains that she earned her Master's after three decades of working as an actor.
