The EU case against Microsoft for bundling IE with Windows was settled in 2009. MS had to include a choice of browsers during the Windows installation. The original complaint was by Opera software in 2007.
Microsoft was fined by the EU in 2013 for non-compliance with the original settlement.

Anyway I succeeded in deinstalling MS-Internet Explorer (though I do not know for how long).

After you are done you must relaunch and you are confronted with a new
reupdate but it works.

I agree with you the civil servants of EU are completely silly.
They are useless.
But what was the object of my question was How to deinstall MS-Internet Explorer.
I succeded in doing it (see my previous post).

this goes way back to the netscape days. Back in the 1990s when win95 came onto the scene and 32 bit went mainstream and MS was forcing IE with the win95 bundle. US gov dragged MS to court and soiled them good as an anti-trust. That was when apple got injected with 10s of millions by MS to keep a competition afloat.

actually, you may want to do a little googling before uninstalling IE, There are other apps that are tied in with it that may get trashed. it is an integrated tangle web.

Linux treats me right as an OS alternative to use for browsing, just don't use a broadcom wireless net adapter, use one with an atheros chip ...I had to figure that one out the hard way.... or just run ethernet cable out of the router, i guess that would work fine also. .,my router is a long way off, so i would need 70 feet of cable..not exactly feasible

I never do 'googling' like you say.
I use a professional search tool (Qwant) and I do not get unwanted adverts.

I do not accept the idea that 'it is an integrated tangle web'.
The Internet is public; it is not owned by Microsoft.
It was created by a group of European scientists, before being 'recuperated in part' by the US Military.

I succeeded in deactivating IE.
I checked with the tool which used IE by default, and now all is well.
Though I did not checked all.
I had just acquired a new tool (a compiler to be precise) and there was nothing in it to change the IE; and I had no time to wait for their maintenance service.
Now it works normally.

I also can create Linux applications with my new tool.
Any ideas ?

I always wondered what would get trashed when IE got deleted, i just left it in and tucked it away back in my windows days.

Yes, microsoft isn't the greatest cyberwhole divided by the sum, the world wide web isn't a subsidiary, it is a network of sorts.

I just use linux to browse, leaving windows disconnected entirely in my mulitiboot PC config. my linux came bundled with firefox, but i added on palemoon so the IHG would run. i think vivaldi and opera and waterfox are fresh on the browser scene also. I heard good things about slimjet too, real lightweight app

When XP died out and windows 10 was being forced in the way it was via updates to win 7. and 8 PCs. i knew it was time for a leap of faith and figure out a better way to use a home PC. luckily, linux (ubuntu and mint) is fine tuned enough now for the everyday home user. I remember back a few years ago when it was a slog and drudgery to get it functional, not advisable for the majority of PC users at home.

I explained in a previous post how I was able to deinstall Internet Explorer 11.

But that didn't suffice.
The following morning when I restarted my machine I had a message who told me that MS-Defender had modified my Interbase applications.

I could not access these applications anymore.

To have them rework I had to review all my parameters and each parameter is linked to others.
Other parameters than Internet Explorer 11 were not deactivated or changed.
In my case I use Firefox for browsing on the web.
But I also had to change the default applications for opening *.htm and *.html files.
By a series of errors and retry I succeeded in repairing my pameters.
I also reinstalled Interbase.

After a long struggle, MS-Internet was still deactivated and all my applications worked anew.

I knew the deactivation of MS-Internet was not easy but I realise the extent of MS' hypocrisis in hiding links to other applications so that people are discouraged from tampering.

Satya Nadella is really a very sly fox.
How I would love to have a punching session with him or better a parachute jump session!!!

Is anyone else having issues installing the latest Windows updates i keep getting told to restart to install latest updates and when i do nothing happens i just keep going through this process over and over The update is (KB4074588) And the error message i get is 0x80070bc2.

Stop being MS guinea pigs and wait till ask woody / end users test the updates

Their current rating 3 says patch

BUT patching might be as bad as malware depending on your version of 10

The root cause is the same — a key driver gets uninstalled by the install of the updates and not put back down again.

If you are one of the unlucky ones that was damaged or impacted by this and you’ve somehow managed to get your system working again, I would say turn off the windows update service and hang tight. Microsoft is working on a permanent fix.

I'm on win 7 without the latest update using chrome with ad-blockplus / script safe / plugins disabled / no coin / disconnect with no issues
