Then again it does take all sorts. At least the old woman gave us a good laugh. Hopefully she`ll get in contact sooner or later and give us another chance to chuckle Oh did i fail to point out it was the double presidential penthouse suite ,and that we didn`t have to share a bed or anything Gosh what must some of our fellow members have wondered At least thanks to your " Influential family friends " ,that threat of legal action has been dropped So now i can show those before and after photos i took Arrival day. Departure day. Knew we shouldn`t have opened that second keg

The worst for me was the "Bowery Whitehouse Hotel" in New York
It sounded great and looked good on the internet - When we got there OMG The rooms were little more than cubicles when gaps under the walls and no ceilings, so you could hear everything around. The IT suite was one old pentium 90 PC in the front (or foyer is they called it) The tea and coffee facilicties were also in the foyer in a machine which produced stuff that tasted the same which ever drink you tried. The room which was a double, was 8ft x 7ft, and the "wardrobe" has no door. So we had to take most things with us everyday. The shower & toilets were unisex and with no locks! Daft as it may seem we had a superb holiday because we couldnt wait to get out in the morning and didnt really want to come back so we did more every day than we would have! Mad isn't it Have fun |

Palmers lodge was one of the worst i ever stayed in. Was put up there by work and it must have been the cheapest in the area as it was full of backpackers and so noisy at night i barely slept a wink the two night i was there and i was on the top floor so how noisy it must have been for the ones underneath ?.The food for breakfast was served luke warm .The tv reception was rotten and the staff not bothered. When i first checked in i went to look out of the window and it was dirty on the inside and covered with bird muck on the outside
I give it 1 out of 5 and they are only getting the 1 as the girl at the front desk had nice cleavage

Novotel, Euroway Trading Estate, M606, nr Leeds-Bradford Airport.
A fine establishment, much frequented by young couples who aren't supposed to be together. The room cleaning has been subcontracted out to the West Yorkshire Fire Service, whose mobile pumps can generate the necessary water pressure to make the hosing out effective.

I understand the Vegas hotel issues, Have had a few issues too...
But the worst was forced on me... I knew I was in trouble when the desk had hourly rates. This was in Downtown LA. Gone now, it was converted to an aids clinic... But it's like the hotel/room in the movie Red Heat (IMDB reference http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095963/). Had to stay in this flea bag for jury duty reasons.

My Golf Club
Here is a place I stay at briefly, but on a semi regular basis
Some pics I took on my last stay, February I think A small story here, I was booked onto the course and still had an hour or so before I tee'd off, so being the VEF addict I am, I wasted a bit of time on the forum. While on the forum, my Mum phoned me up and after what must have been 3/4 of an hour listening too blah blah blah I set off for the round of golf. Only, I left the lap top logged onto VEF and sitting on the bed. I got a real weird look from the cleaning lady the next morning asking If I wanted my room serviced Nice place though, I could live there

You learn to leave the mini-bars alone. They still charge! I heard of one guy in another band that used to take all his 'expired' light bulbs with him and exchange them for working ones in the provided motel accomodation. Two particularly stand out in my mind. The first when they put us all up in a bunkhouse. (1 room with bunk beds).. Guys and girl(friends) alike. I think we may have only played there a couple of times. However the first time one of the staff members 'took a shine' to our female singer and came back to party with us, even though none of us were in a party mood. The second time i believe we drove home afterward. The other was sleeping on the floor of an old Boy Scout hall that was suspended on stilts, half above a river. So you had the sound of running water all night to trouble your drunken bladder. I found out one of the girls talked in her sleep that night, which might have been interesting, 'sept that i told her to 'Shut Up'. Which she did - unfortunately Should've asked her about 'Girl Guides' |
