Shame I used to like watching the Six Million Dollar Man. I also saw him in a recent re-run of series 2 of Mission: Impossible where he guested in an episode.

Was a Chinese general and revolutionist he was promoted to the rank of major general (shao jiang) in 1955 and general (Shang jiang) in 1988 he was a member of the 11st National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the 12nd CPC Central Committee Xiang began to take part in the revolution at the age of 15 he has successively participated in the Second Sino-Japanese War Chinese Civil War and Korean War he was eventually purged during the Cultural Revolution but later reinstated he is hailed as founding father of the Chinese ballistic missile forces. Later in his life he served as commander of Nanjing Military Region until his retirement in 1990 he died age 99.

Whilst in no way wishing to denigrate the memories of those involved in the USA, could we please spare a thought for those killed by the "unprecedented" monsoon floods in India and Norther Bangladesh.
The monsoon is the worst in decades started early and is expected to go on until late October.

Over 1200 people are known to have died and many hundreds of thousands displaced. People have lost absolutely everything and unlike the USA which has the resources to fix the damage, this south Asian region does not..

Steely Dan's Walter Becker has passed away.
The cause of death is not known at the moment.

Like many of you, I grew up listening to Steely Dan and was fortunate to see them twice in concert. This a very sad bit of news.

The TMZ reports he had been quite ill and had undergone surgery.

Mr. Becker, thank you for so much great music. RIP.

Dave Hlubek, lead guitarist and co-founder of Southern rock icons Molly Hatchet, has died at the age of 66. The news was confirmed via a post on the band’s official Facebook page, although no details were provided.
