Had a nose on iTunes and found a version of The Stripper. However, when I bought it, it turned out to be only 17 seconds of the track, so have asked for a refund from Apple. Not impressed!

Big Grin Now a question for the music lovers..

Okay now I have a question for the music fans for Striptease music..

Since this forum deals with items that are considered befor 1995 to be vintage, does this mean that any say rock song or pop song that was made before 1995 would be considered "Vintage striptease music? Or are we just looking at only the songs that are more classical and before say 1970...

After all I got 3 candidates for Striptease music and in fact all of them as far Ias I can tell are before 19956, the cut off point..

So if you want them, I can either point you to the links or show the videos that these songs are from..

These include things like Warrant's Cherry Pie, (released in September 1990, Aerosmith's "Rag Doll" (Released in August 1987, and of ocurse Kiss' "Take it off" (Released in May 1992)

So if we could get a vote on this it would be intersting to find other music that would be considered vintage and yet doesn't have the classical smooth jazz or heavy blues beat..(Deploying smooth Jazz, in 3...2... 1...)

This I think is one of the reasons why people mix up burlesque and classic striptease. You know exactly what to expect with burlesque-nothing, in essence, but tassel twirling and bare feet. With striptease normally the girl shows a lot more, keeps her shoes on(at least until the last minute, teases the hell out of you when naked with a feather boa or suchlike and NEVER, I REPEAT NEVER uses rock or pop music to strip to-it has always been jazz or blues because it is the one thing I think generates a movement in the trouser area. Many people have sex to Barry White or other, but it wouldn't do a lot for me, however if you had a really raunchy St James Infirmary Blues or Black and Tan Fantasy(many versions) playing, well your woman could really throw herself into it-as it were. Striptease however without the sleazy jazz, which is muted trumpet or trombone, thumping snare and other instruments just wouldn't be the same and certainly not 'classic' IMHO. Also in IMHO Je'Taime is boring to listen to and classical music just doesn't work either.

See this is where I start to lose people, but trust me, I'll win you all back!
A while ago, I found a video of a girl stripping to "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent. She finished the video by masturbating herself to orgasm (allegedly!) right at the dying notes of the song. In no way was it classic striptease, but DAMN was it hot!

Ahem, anyway, when it comes to sex/porn, there is nothing wrong with a good bit of hard rock/metal for me! However, with striptease, I feel it has to have that kind of "David Rose" music to it.

It doesn't really even matter to me what the outfit is, hell, I'd love to see a ballerina dancing to a typical twinkly number, only for the opening notes of The Stripper to kick in and send her into an entirely different routine!

See, told you I'd win you back!

I agree that its not the age but the style of the music that makes it right for a "classic" striptease. I'm far less fussed about whether its technically Burlesque or Striptease or whether the girl ends up totally naked or not as for the the eroticism starts to build the moment the lady walks on stage, peaks when she starts to peel and the ebbs from there. The longer she can tease it out while maintaining the general "momentum" of her performance, the better.

Its a shame there aren't more artistes arranging brand new striptease tunes. The most recent completely new pieces I have heard are by Willie McNeil's "Big Willie's Burlesque" who released a studio CD of their live show tunes in 2010. Everything else appears to be re-hashes of classic like "The Stripper", or the same re-hash released time and time again on endless striptease compilations trying to cash in on the current resurgence of "Burlesque" on the "alternative" scene.

Provided it creates the correct - as Greenman put it - "stirring" then its all good by me. In one of my own striptease slideshows over at the Striptease Heaven thread I used an instrumental version of ACDC's "The Jack" (albeit slowed down a little). As this is a classic blues riff it works well for a striptease without being "classic" bump and grind. Another not immediately obvious tune I think could work well in a striptease arrangement is Donovan's "Mellow Yellow". It has the right tempo and a proper sleazy feel to it and also a good middle eight which even has some classic bumps at the end. I have a couple of instrumental versions of it but nothing approaching what could be its full potential.

You may have noticed that I keep saying "instrumental". For me a striptease tune cannot have vocals which distract from the performance. That means "Keep Your Hat On" is out. "Feeling Good" is out. Any version of "The Blues in the Night" with a singer are out. You get the picture

And yes, "The Stripper" is the bechmark by which all other tunes are judged. If a tune comes along which bests it, I'd love to hear it.

Not me matey, as Blackadder says "Call me a bluff old traditionalist..." but that is what I discovered naked women with and that is what will continue to excite my generation although nowadays that is a dying art. Burlesque is good to a point but you already know the outcome-real stripping was not knowing whether the girl would end up topless/nude etc and that was the real thrill - for me anyway. I have to admit that now I find 'The Stripper'(David Rose) boring, perhaps I have become desensitised to it as it was used so often over the years.

I hear you! Although I still find it to be the top dog in terms of strip music. I've been searching out alternative versions, songs that are similar and even started writing my own versions.

On another note, maybe we could collate our findings somehow? Like have a list on the first page of this thread as an index of the music, as well as links to the tracks? Or some kind of online storage place for all the songs in mp3 format? Then we can all share in the delights! I for one have about 10 to 20 versions of The Stripper!
