You and me both! To be honest, I checked out the rest of the album and it's a good listen, so worth it to take a chance I felt.
Incidentally, I have managed to track down a perfect quality vinyl rip of The Ruling Class soundtrack, featuring a track called "Gracie's Strip" which is a right raunchy little number, I can tell you! Last edited by Wild_Stallion; September 29th, 2015 at 08:34 PM.. |

I've been searching high and low for that track, Wild. Where did you find it?

The film is here, and that music is from about 1hr 14 onwards but she talks over it so you barely hear it AND she is not that big if you get my drift. It looks a weird film but with some big names in it at the time.

Not sure if I'm allowed to post links here, but my method was to type "the ruling class soundtrack" into google, then go to the link for the site Egg City Radio, there is a zip file download on that page. The music is speech free as well!

'My Momma Never Taught Me how to Cook' by Annette Peacock
'My Momma Never Taught Me how to Cook' by Annette Peacock. In my opinion the sexiest & raunchiest blues ever written. This would make a classic striptease soundtrack!

Ladies Of The Road by King Crimson
Ladies Of The Road by King Crimson - probably the second best striptease soundtrack after My Mamma Never Taught Me How To Cook with a really dirty sax solo!

I don't suppose you could make it a hat-trick and find the Steptoe OST could you? I'm not sure it was ever even released. I know it was probably written by Ron Grainer but the trail goes cold right there. Last edited by Stroking_it; September 30th, 2015 at 04:45 PM.. |

I'll certainly give it a shot, although I have a feeling a lot of the incidental music was one-shots for the film scenes.

Ok so seemingly, there were 3 composers on the Steptoe film, namely Ron Grainer, Jack Fishman and Roy Budd. The credits music is by Acker Bilk. Unfortunately, there are no credits for the individual pieces of music, nor is a score readily available at time of writing, although I have yet to dig further into this. Ron Grainer wrote "Old Ned", the well-known theme from S&S, so to my mind, that means the Zita music, or "Crumpet Voluntary" as mentioned by Mike Reid in her intro, would probably have either been written by the others, as they are credited with the score, or was simply a track played by the band at the club.
Speaking of the band, no mention of who they are exists anywhere. The quest continues! Last edited by Wild_Stallion; October 1st, 2015 at 02:24 PM.. |

Have emailed Studiocanal, who own the rights to S&S in the hope they'll have the archived recordings.
