I beg your pardon?
My (first)cat also died about two years ago and nobody(except me) cared!?!

p.s.: Please feel free to remove if this post is too much "off-topic"
You are free to object - however:

* It is a news event about the death of a celebrity, quoted on the BBC and in the press - therefore I thought the RIP thread was the logical thread to post the event. OK the celebrity was a dog, but so were Rin Tin Tin and Pal (who played the original Lassie), and those dogs were international stars from their appearances in motion pictures.

* I've seen other VEF members enter posts on this thread relating to personal losses impacting them, so you were free to post your loss at the time of your pet's passing (should you have wished).

Ah yes the Watling dynasty Jack, Dilys, Deborah and Giles-who won the seat for Clacton conservatives at the General Election. Always sad to see someone from a classic show like Doctor Who passing and very sad to read of Deborah's.

That's shocking. I remember the Becker game well. It seems like yesterday. We grow old so fast. For an athletic young man to end up this way is so sad. He made his mark on the world and that is more than many of us achieve.

When I read about this I was racking my brains trying to figure out who he was.

It's only when they should a picture of him that I realized he was the FATHER in Home Alone.

He was also in Gladiator, but I don't know which character he played.

John Heard had a rather extensive career. Rarely a featured actor but he popped up in dozens of movies and tv shows. He even had a 5 or 6 episode appearance in The Sopranos.

His IMDB page shows 178 acting credits:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001334/

He was in a movie titled Gladiator, but it was a 1992 boxing movie featuring Cuba Gooding Jr.:

It was a decent movie

Default John Kundla July 3, 1916 – July 23, 2017

MINNEAPOLIS -- Before Phil Jackson and Pat Riley, before Gregg Popovich and Larry Brown, even before Red Auerbach, there was John Kundla.

Kundla, the Hall of Fame coach who led the Minneapolis Lakers to five NBA championships, died Sunday. He was 101.

Son Tom Kundla said his father died at an assisted living facility in Northeast Minneapolis that he called home for years.

Lynne Barnett. Sixties Australian pop star. Quite big in her day, but ended up dying a sad lonely death.
