Heavy Metal / Schwermetall / Métal Hurlant comics magazines
Ave!
This thread is dedicated to the comics of the series "Heavy Metal" (English), "Schwermetall" (German), "Métal hurlant" (French), "Total Metal" (Danish) and "Tung Metall (Swedish) and all other licensed editions. Wikipedia German - Wikipedia French Some covers (Métal hurlant) Schwermetall (original subtitle: Fantastic Comics for Adults) was a comics magazine published monthly starting in February 1980 and discontinued in 1999. It focused on science fiction and fantasy comics for adults. Founder and editor-in-chief of this licensed edition of the French Métal hurlant was the publisher Raymond Martin, who had already gained experience as an alternative publisher with U-Comix. Space operas, erotic, spiritual or experimental stories were printed. Originally published by Volksverlag, the magazine was continued by Alpha Comic Verlag under Achim Schnurrer after the latter's bankruptcy, starting with issue 58. Under the heading "Schwermetall präsentiert" (Heavy Metal Presents), Alpha Comic Verlag published individual volumes by various cartoonists. I own 25 issues - 12 to 14, 16 to 24, 26 to 29, 35, 47 to 54 - from each of which I will scan and post a few series. I prefer as artists Philippe Druillet, Jean Henri Gaston Giraud aka Moebius and Gir, Philippe Caza - overly sexual and violent series are not my thing. Unfortunately, I have never owned copies of the English and French editions. But surely there are members who can help out. Schwermetall no 12 January 1981 Cover by Philippe Caza: "Die luftdichte (also "hermetische") Garage" by Moebius: "Zwischenlandung auf Pharagonescia" by Moebius: Gallery

Thanks! I have Métal Hurlant No. 41 (June 1979), which also has Champakou.
It also has Moebius' Jerry Cornelius adaptation (Le Garage Hermétique de Jerry Cornelius), albeit the final episode rather than this one. I will scan it soon and upload. |
