In Disney's defence, I don't think they had much choice, once the controversial nature of Gunn's numerous old tweets came to light. While the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise has made more than $1.6bn (£1.2bn) worldwide to date (source: The Guardian), to a family-friendly organization like Disney, James Gunn had become instant poison.

Offensive isn't so much the issue. It's that they are disturbing & ominous. And I don't see how most of them qualify as a joke in anyway. They sound like something Victor Silva would say.

Anyone who jokes about having sex with children is most likely a true pedophile in real life.

There are subjects and topics you just don't make jokes about.

RE: Aquaman

2 brothers! One destined to be King. One NOT. The latter wants to be King. The former doesn't want to but then he has no choice but to follow his destiny (the recycled destiny plot again!!) and challenges and fight his rogue brother to save his kingdom and the Earth world.

The SAME OLD SHIT over and over again with these annoying Comic books based movies.

Also... if they are underwater creatures, why do they have legs?

Default Disney urged to rehire James Gunn by celebrities and fan petitions

An online petition calling for Disney to rehire director of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, James Gunn, is rapidly gathering steam as cast mates and celebrities rally for him.

At time of writing, the petition has over 130,000 signatures, spurred in part thanks to a tweet of support from Hellboy actress Selma Blair.

Disney fired Gunn, who was slated to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, on July 20 for "offensive attitudes and statements" he made on Twitter between 2009 and 2012.

Gunn tweeted a five-part apology on July 19, and a statement was given to ABC News on July 20 in which the director took responsibility for his actions and said he understood the business decision made by Disney.

Thumbs up Springsteen

“Springsteen on Broadway” will launch globally on Netflix on December 15, which is also the final night of Springsteen’s completely sold out 236-show run on Broadway.

Default Dredd

Discovered that a television series of Judge Dredd is in development, which might be starring Karl Urban, he pretty much nailed the character in the second Judge Dredd movie (lets forget the first, starring Stallone) although no matter how good it is I get the feeling it'll be cancelled after the first series.

I am still awaiting the proposed sequel to the Dredd movie, Dredd 2, mainly because of this poster for it on the IMDb.

Clearly featuring Judge Death.

For fans of Dredd and the world he inhabits I recommend this short, not for profit film, Judge Minty

Judge Minty was the Mega City 1 Judge who trained the young Joe Dredd, but after many years patrolling the streets of Mega City 1 and realising he is slowing up and his judgement is not what it was Minty decides to take the long walk, to leave the city behind and bring law and judgement to the cursed earth, until his own death.

Happy Birthday, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He is 71 today.

Isn't he kind of old to be playing a Terminator again?

What is he going to say?

I'll Be Back... with a walker!!

Hey, I'm 66 and I still jog ten kilometres in 45 minutes three times a week. It only gets ridiculous when their female co-star is twenty six.
