was there much off-camera sex between porn stars? or do you think they all got it out of their system on set?

i love it when a woman is REALLY into the bloke, and when that happens, i can't help but imagine them meeting at some hotel at a later date and having loads more sex, unencumbered by cameramen and directors and what not.

I think they just thought it was a job and, when they were off camera, they were normal people - or at least relatively so. I tend to regard porn stars as just another branch of the acting profession. The best of them do look as though they're really into it - but I doubt they genuinely are.

Maybe you're just a hopeless romantic, morganistic. I'd be interested to hear the views of industry insiders.

yep that's me Atreus, a hopeless romantic! i'd like to think i can tell when a woman's faking it, a real turn-off it is too, but occasionally you see one where her buttons are being well and truly pushed. maybe afterwards the bloke doesn't want to go to a hotel. maybe the directors and crew don't want them to either, cos it might spoil the chemistry when they team up again for a later film. i just think that some of these women are so incredibly beautiful, and many of them simply love sex for sex's sake, that off-camera shenanigans are almost inevitable.

Hmmm. I don't think it will help your thread if this becomes a dialogue between morganistic the romantic and Atreus the cynic, so I'll chuck in another two cents worth and disappear for a while.

We (men as well as women) are all actors from time to time. I'll find it hard to believe the man who says he has never had to act the part when his woman fancied it and when he was fatigued or just plain not in the mood. I'd find in a darned sight more difficult to believe a woman who says she's never accomodated her man when the truth was that she would have rather been poked in the eye with a sharp stick.

Some of us do it well. Some of us do it badly. Porn stars do it for money. The good ones convince us they're having a good time and some of us at least would like to believe it's for real. But it's not. When you think they're likely performing in front of a cameraman, a sound technician, a lighting engineer and a kid standing in the corner picking his nose, the chances that they would ever want to continue once the shoot was done seem remote. They'll probably be hot from the lights, sweaty and tetchy, and more in need of a shower and a sleep than another shag.

I have no evidence, which is why I wrote earlier that it would be interesting to hear from an industry insider, but I reckon that the majority of porn stars are keen to keep their personal life separate from their professional life.

Not to mention that the sex scenes are not just a matter of the couple having one off and the crew just happens to be filming it. They start, get the shot from this angle, the director says "Stop", the crew resets lights and moves the camera, director says "Go", they resume, "stop, change position", etc. Sorry for the bucket of cold water to the fantasy but even if the actors want to get into it all the interruptions and directions make it hard for them to maintain that mood.

They have home lives.
They have families and kids to take care of as well as shopping, cleaning and cooking etc.

If any of them do have affairs or one-night stands, then they will only be the same a 99% of the rest of us. Those of us who have had office affairs or after the club one-nighters.

This is their job, their income, their pension payments. They are only "acting" when on the set and if they do feel any desire to take things further - as was said, they will only be the same as the rest of us.
