We have a potplant where you'll see all my finger/toenail clippings. The bogies are better camouflaged.

When I'm drunk I turn into an eating machine who trashes the kitchen and eats every special little morsel other members of the household have carefully preserved in the fridge. No conscience.

I got a bit worried at the weekend. Smelly candles and cushions appeared. Why do women like these things she has her own flat where she can light candles and pluff cushions.

The oven/microwave is a very good place to put those things you dont wish to wash at the moment
when the sink is full to overflowing

Thank god for cooking appliances doubling up

Come 'round to our flat 'cos me after a belly full of ale and a large curry it's more like smelly cushions and too scared to light any candles.

Default Former Slob

Hello, my name is Xexemedes. I have been putting my things away now for 8 years, but it was not always the case.

I would use every single dish, pot, pan, spoon and fork before finally washing them. Often eating my meals straight out of the pot using my fingers because there were no clean dishes. I once poured milk directly into the bag inside a box of cereal and "drank it" because there were no other clean vessels nor any clean spoons. It was more than one occasion that I found various crawly, wiggly critters about 2/3 of the way down in the sink breeding under the pile of God knows what I ate 2 weeks ago. This is unfortunately true.

I would save up my laundry until I had worn everything but my suit at least twice, then bundle it all in an enormous Santa Clause like sack and take over the entire arsenal of industrial washers and driers at the local Laundromat for 3-4 hours. This is also true.

The middle room of my house was my filing cabinet. All my bills, tax documents, receipts, paycheck stubs, insurance documents, etc were unceremoniously thrown into the room. I would sometimes smoosh the papers into piles to afford a walking path through the room. I had a milk crate under my mail slot. I was pretty good about paying bills on time but everything else would get dumped from the crate into the filing room. I did this for about 4 years. *sigh* true.

My car was an extension of my house. The back seat was filled up to the neck rest with old doughnut bags, coffee cups-some still part full :P , bottles, cans, the uneaten ends of sandwiches-which, sometimes I would find, dust off and eat. To give anyone a ride I had to shovel off the passenger seat into the back. Gad, that was true too.

I once couldn't clean my house because it was so messy I could not find the broom, dust pan or trash bags that I bought.

For some reason my bathroom has always been relatively neat, well except for the mold on the shower curtains and the grime in the tub-that doesn't bother me.

I married a woman who was worse than me and that set me straight. She would pile laundry, shoes, curtain rods, you name it on the bed, and there were a few nights when I slept on piles of books or clothes hangers because there was no other space for them. The dining room table was so packed full of crap even the cat couldn't walk on it. That is when I began to clean, really clean.

I have been separated 4 years and my friends are still amazed when my place is picked up and neat; I would be offended but it just reminds me how bad I used to be. My papers still get stacked in piles for months on end, and while the back seat of my truck is clean (for my sons) the passenger seat still gets filled with whatever I generate while working. Clutter, however, drives me crazy: when I moved here from the marital home I threw away 20 contractor bags of stuff-I don't miss any of it, I can't even remember what most of it was.

Not sure if talking about that was therapeutic or just disgusting.

Blessings young children: sleep peacefully and well. Let the grown-ups sleep not, but open their eyes.

I love clutter but only I know where to find anything. All I get from Mrs BB is "why do you need this?"
