Things seem to have improved just lately and I've been able to download a few videos without too many problems.

Is there any way to search 1Fichier for files that are not your own?

FileFactory has a nice built in search feature that lets you search all of their shared files by various parameters. Anything like that in 1Fichier?

Having resumed downloading files, I'm now finding that they freeze halfway through and show up as failed a few minutes later.

This is the last one (VEF content) that I've tried - about 3 or 4 times:

Anyone else have problems this week?

Tried that one, it works... no problems here in general, except for the occasional deleted older file. But I hardly download anything lately, no time

I assume you've already followed the usual advice? I.e. if you're downloading via browser, try a different browser (firefox, chrome, opera, etc.) Or try using a download manager like JDownloader2. If you're not a premium member at 1fichier, register as a free user -- some claim they get better speed and fewer failed downloads that way. Or try paying for premium for a month or three; it's still one of the best deals around of any file host IMHO.

oops, forgot about the browser/downloader options and premium or free membership lol. Get a 3 month or free subscription and wait till they have their special offer up, premium for 10 euro a year, I have extended my premium for 3 years in a row now, at 10 bucks a pop and it's totally worth it. Best bang for the buck. Offer is usually up in August / September.
