dvd ripper

Can someone suggest a dvd ripper that can rip files into file extensions other than vobs ? Or do you have to convert the file ? I'm looking for a program as close to mactheripper but for windows. (mactheripper ripped files in mp4 if I remember correctly).

Handbrake do it... but only for the main film on a DVD and not the complete DVD, at least I think it doesn't since I never tried it for a complete DVD (I use DVD Shrink for that).

Yes, Magic DVD Ripper is by far the best I've used over the years. It's fast with loads of options. This YouTube video contains the link from where you can download it and, more importantly, it shows you how to reset the trial uses counter to five in Windows so that you can keep using it for free. It works.

I would also go with handbrake. In fact I use it a lot. I ripped my DVD collection (>1000 DVDs) with it. It is free, open-source, and very easy to use. It runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac.
It automatically selects the title with the longest duration, but you can select any title manually. It also has a command line tool, which comes in handy when ripping TV Series with multiple titles per single DVD.

I've used iMacsoft Free DVD Ripper for ages and it's really easy and you can save in a variety of formats.
