Firefox and editing on VEF

I had a couple of problems with it in the past. FF leads always to double posts for me.

Reason: If go into preview and use pics and format options it will look like this.

In this example it might be no big thing - but if you have posted a lot of stuff, the firefox preview isn't helpfull - IMO.

Thing is in the preview you can't really edit the html code. So I'll always use "back" in the browser. Which is the reason why I produce double posts. You can't HTML edit a already posted Thread/Post.
Using "back" in browser will lead to situation that you will press "submit" and get a double post.

Same situation in Chrome:


Nice! I can actually see the HTML and use it or edit it. For instance I could copy or move the"[B]".

Maybe it is just me - but chrome seems to work better. Is there a tip for FF? Or is chrome just better?

In big posts with syntax highlighting and pics I personally need the HTML view.
FF doesn't allow this, only if you use "Back" in browser you'll get back to the HTML view - but if you post after that you'll end up with a double post.

Will use chrome in the future - but maybe there is a good option for FF? My tip is: use Chrome on VEF when posting and editing.

If you switch your editor from WYSIWYG to advanced text editor you will see the BBCode in Firefox.

After updating to version 50.2 problems arose:

Pushing the Thanks- button ends me up on top of each page instead of the last post as usual.

Can only read the incoming messages , Inbox is not clickable anymore (can not switch to Send Items, PM box nearly full).

Forum editor not functional at all; no fonts, no hyperlinking etc. possible, only typing plain text.

Interface setting on : Standard Editor - Extra Formatting tools

perhaps also to do with no-script? Tried to switch off /remove no-script , can not find where to do that.

50.2 is, to coin a phrase, Shite.

If you upgrade Noscript and Adblock+ to the latest version as well, I've found that improves matters, but still leaves a livejasmin popunder, which wasn't there with version 50.0. NoScript trashes the extra tab but at the moment, I am closing the first VEF tab and then opening afresh to be on the safe side.

It's not an elegant solution but seems to help.

Hopefully, buttsie will pass by this thread in the near future and impart some expertise.

I'm running 50.2 also and having none of these issues. AdBlockPlus and the lists I have are blocking all of the ads including the LiveJasmin popunder.

The "thanks button" etc. issues are due to AdBlockPlus blocking certain scripts that are needed here at VEF. You need to open blockable items in ABP and whitelist the scripts for VEF, google, yahoo etc.

You can disable Addons in Settings->Addon in FF. Don't use ABP - it sucks big time. And there is a company behind it, who makes deals.
For instance you can't view spiegel.de (biggest german news site) without ads with ABP.

Ublock Origin is way better.

There are still some issues. If I want to edit or quote an older post I did with firefox - the quote sections is empty. Edit mode doesn't help at all.
Why would I do this? Well when posting a vid I don't want to format the post from scratch, I'd like to copy an old post and edit the new stuff in.

So I'm still bound to chrome. Which is ok, but FF doesn't seem to work well in general with vef. So if anybody has similar issues - use chrome!
