Actually, brightness and contrast adjustment, while technically manipulation, I've always considered to be fairly valid techniques. It may not be what the celebrity intended, but certain fabrics yield fairly predictable results.

Some say that it's "faking" a pic. I guess my response would be: Is putting on a pair of nightvision goggles "faking" being able to see in the dark?

More questionable is the practice of adjusting contrast, and then enhancing it with color adjustment. I added a couple of examples of that, as well as the above photos, into the following video (the last one not that great, I'll admit):

I suppose I'd feel more ambivalent about the practice if I was actually trying to sell the photos to a tabloid. Fortunately, that's not my game. I'll stick with writing, thank you very much.

One of the Sexiest Women in the World? Hard to say. I've always felt that these things should always have (Famous) in parentheses, as there are hundreds of thousands of women in every country who are as beautiful and desirable as the celebs who get the spotlight. In fact, I've always wanted to see a show in which everyday ladies got a chance to be compared to the hottest current celebs, after getting the same treatment: Expert makeup, wardrobe, hairstyling, photography (and no doubt Photoshopping).

However, I don't want to digress too far. To me one of Jennifer Aniston's best qualities is her Girl Next Door Quality.



For example, I feel that I knew at least two or three women back in my college days who were as beautiful as her. The fact that she has the cuteness plus talent is what makes her seem special to me.

Then, when she is fixed up to look all sultry, she gains a little extra "oomph".



As the rednecks like to say, "She cleans up real nice, don't she?"
