Have just finished two books, first was Silks by Felix Frances son of Dick Frances you can barely distinguish between styles. If I had been told Dick wrote it I would have believed it! Methinks this was just a ruse to establish his son as a writer.
Second was Bitter Medicine by Sara Paretsky Featuring her hard boiled private eye V.I. Warshawski. V I ´s friend Consuelo's pregnancy is already risky-she's sixteen and diabetic. Despite V.I.'s efforts to provide Consuelo with proper care, both mother and daughter die in the local hospital. Suspecting malpractice, V.I. begins an investigation. Good decent page turner, after you have suspended belief.

Rainbows End, by Vernor Vinge.
Science-fiction set in the near future (2025). A possible future, although I don't see it happening that soon. Good read anyways. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbows_End

George R R Martin - Fire and Blood part 1 - 11/2018
Been a while since i read anything by him as his books in the library always seem to be out
I blame GOT on TV deciding 2018 would be a gap year This is the first volume of the definitive two-part history of the Targaryens in Westeros. 3.91/5 706 pages https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/...21-fire-blood# The consensus seems to be the next Volume of GOT wont ever be in print until the TV series ends - for commercial reasons one suspects. |
