Elisabeth Sladen ~ R.I.P.
So sad to hear confirmation that Elisabeth has passed away. The best companion and one of the loveliest women ever, RIP

Oh god, what a loss; to her family, friends and the fan community. Too soon, far, far too soon.

RIP
Have just read about this on the BBC website - awful news.
A great actress, both in Doctor Who and the Sarah Jane Adventures. Will be sadly missed by all. |

A wonderful actress and excellent, modest, beautiful assistant to the Doctor.
R.I.P Elisabeth aka Sarah Jane Smith, she will be missed, but her beauty and talent will always be around to be enjoyed by all generations. |

I for one was unaware that she was ill. I'm assuming that she must have known she had cancer for several months at least, but decided not to publicise the fact. Instead she dealt with the condition in a quiet, dignified and unassuming manner - very much in keeping with the type of woman she appeared be.
This should serve as an example to today's so-called celebrities, most of whom would have announced it on twitter and face book and doubtless seen it as an ideal opportunity to make a reality TV show. Regards.

Horribly sad news. I fell in love with her the first time I saw her in Doctor Who. She was a wonderful actress. Unfortunetly the only other work I have seen of Lis' was as Lady Flimnap in Gulliver In Lilliput. It was great to see her in a part so different from Sarah. Of course she was just as great. This lady will be missed.
