THE NEW IDOL
Somewhere there are still peoples and herds, but not with us, my brothers: here there are states.
A state? What is that? Well! open now your ears to me, for now will I say to you my word concerning the death of peoples.
State is the name of the coldest of all cold monsters. Coldly lies it also; and this lie creeps from its mouth: "I, the state, am the people."
It is a lie! Creators were they who created peoples, and hung a faith and a love over them: thus they served life.
Destroyers, are they who lay traps for many, and call it the state: they hang a sword and a hundred cravings over them.
Where there is still a people, there the state is not understood, but hated as the evil eye, and as sin against laws and customs.
This sign I give to you: every people speaks its language of good and evil: this its neighbor understands not. Its language has it devised for itself in laws and customs.
But the state lies in all languages of good and evil; and whatever it says it lies; and whatever it has it has stolen.
False is everything in it; with stolen teeth it bites, the biting one. False are even its bowels.
Confusion of language of good and evil; this sign I give to you as the sign of the state. Truly, the will to death, indicates this sign! Truly, it beckons to the preachers of death!

Just see these superfluous ones! They steal the works of the inventors and the treasures of the wise. Culture, they call their theft - and everything becomes sickness and trouble to them!

Go away from the bad odor! Withdraw from the idolatry of the superfluous!

Marx and Nietzsche both hated the State.

Marx loved "the Party" and gave all power to it.

You'll have to sit a while and think about just what distinction there is to a citizen confronting an all-powerful Communist Party as opposed to an all-powerful State.

Spoiler alert: there isn't any . . .

A bullet in the head from a Party Discipline Unit kills you just as dead as a bullet in the head from a State Executioner. . . .

That's still discussed, but he suffered dementia since 1889 and remained silent during the last 10 years of his life.

He died at his sister house in Weimar.

According to historians, his sister was a very mean person. (She burnt some parts of his works to change the meaning of what he wrote and she was racist).
She kept him at home like a trophy, using his "fame" to become popular. She exposed him when people went to meet "the philosopher".

But Nietzche was a brilliant student and became professor in philosophy at the age of 24 at the university of Basel.
He first thought to become a priest and distanced by himself from religion.

The majority of his works doesn't seem to be written under dementia.
He contradicted himself during his career. (But who doesn't contradict himself during his own life ?).
However his philosophy is logical, sometimes difficult to understand.
But he's not taught at universities because he wrote stupidities.
