1980: Definitely Lisa Welch.

1983: Barbara Edwards was a good pick but the timeless beauty of the year was Tracy Vaccaro.

1987: Sharry Konopski or Marina Baker over India Allen.

1988 wasn't really a contest with the Mrs. in the mix, but I have my own bias toward my all time favorite playmate, Laura Richmond. Shannon Long and Kata Kärkkäinen would also have been excellent choices.

While I've thought that many of the PMOY's were deserving, the only one I've ever agreed with over the years was Donna Edmondson in 1986. The people I thought really deserved it each year were:

1980 - Gig Gangel (although Terri Welles was a close second for me)
1981 - Karen Price
1982 - Kimberly McArthur (I rate Marianne Gravatte third behind Cathy St. George)
1983 - Alana Soares
1984 - Roberta Vasquez (although I think Karen Velez was second that year)
1985 - Pamela Saunders
1986 - Only year I agreed with the pick (see above)
1987 - Sharry Konopski
1988 - Shannon Long
1989 - Tawnni Cable (I put Renee Tenison 4th that year)
1990 - Kerri Kendall (I put Lisa Matthews 3rd that year)
1991 - Cheryl Bachman
1992 - Tylyn John
1993 - Julianna Young (I put Jenny McCarthy 3rd behind Kimberly Donley)
1994 - Shae Marks
1995 - Donna D'Errico (but I think Stacey Sanches is second that year)

Shelby Chesnes in 2013 should have been chosen over Raquel Pomplun.

One egregiously bad choice was Dani Mathers. Thought so at the time and I still think that. Almost any other choice that year would have been a better one.

I realize that Carmella DeCesare wasn't a bad choice by any means in 2004, but I do believe that Pennelope Jimenez was more deserving.

Dalene Curtis was another bad choice in 2002 and it's made worse by the fact that she was selected over Lindsey Vuolo. Mind boggling.

Dalene Curtis was chosen for the novelty of being the first to be completely shaved. Probably the same reason she was PMOM, for that matter. I didn't have a problem then. But then the novelty wore off in the worst way. As I understand it, these days she'll either be completely shaved, or she won't. Depends on her mood.

In my opinion Dani Mathers is easily the worst Playmate of the Year and probably one of the worst Playmates in Playboy's history and that includes both nude and non-nude Playmates. This was my opinion long before the whole body shaming fiasco, I never thought she was particularly facially attractive, her body is unimpressive and her breasts were overly fake looking. I remember seeing her in the 2011 Los Angeles Casting Call and thinking she was the weakest of them all. How did she rise to being a Playmate?

I don't consider the 2014 Playmate Calendar to be particularly strong but my three favorites from that year were Shanice Jordyn (a petite black girl) Jessica Ashley (a brunette girl next door type) Emily Agnes (a busty Brit) and Elizabeth Ostrander (a busty red head.).

While I thought Shanice was cute, I didn't think she did enough to be PMOY. In my mind it was a three way tie between Jessica Ashley, Emily Agnes and Elizabeth Ostrander.

Dani was easily 12th of 12 in that fair weak year.

1984 was a bad choice, so balls to democracy! I'd place Karen Velez in about 6th or 7th place in that year's line-up - she's very pretty, but so was the competition. Top? Either Liz Stewart or Kim Evenson.

1985 - Kathy Shower? Really? So many beauties to choose from, like Joan Bennett, Cherie Witter or Carol Ficatier, and the public vote goes to Robo-C.H.I.C.?
