Played at a local venue last night. Great gig but the free beer was bloody lager. Well, I say lager, it was Budweiser.

Today's drink is from Poland; Okocim Mocne Malt Liquor. Pours a clear dark gold with a good white head that disappears within a minute. Alcohol content 7.0%. Tastes of vanilla, caramel, citrus, malts, some hop bitterness. The high alcohol content hit me faster than other beers with the same amount of alcohol. Just ok overall. |

Stone IPA, from US West Coast brewery Stone Brewing. Incredible 99% rating from 3993 votes on that well known beer rating site. Have both .com and .eu web presence. I notice the hops listed as used varies on both sites. My can was “brewed in Berlin”. Still a cut above most ales although I prefer Dale’s Pale Ale. This one is straw colored, very hoppy with bitter taste both in foreground and background and it lasts long. 6.9%. Quality.

Today's drink comes from Germany: Klosterbrauerei Neuzelle Bathbeer. Pours a solid non-transparent black color with a 1.5 finger sized cream looking head with good retention. Alcohol content 5.2%. Tastes of roasted malt, coffee, caramel and toffee. No hop bitterness. Very smooth going down. Very good overall. |

Our local supermercado has decided to stock up on imported exotic British Ales and this weeks offering is Old Speckled Hen, and it´s bloody lovely! Last month it was Bishop Finger, another fine choice. Making a refreshing change from the usual lager-y stuff you get here in Spain
