The Funeral Murders
BBC: The Funeral Murders
"A new documentary by acclaimed film-maker Vanessa Engle, The Funeral Murders follows a dramatic and deadly series of events that took place at two funerals in Belfast in March 1988. Thirty years later, those who witnessed or were intimately connected to these events tell their stories. This film offers a range of perspectives - from republicans and loyalists to the security forces and family members of those who died, who share their moving stories for the first time" |

Worricker Trilogy- Bill Nighy doing his best almost George Smiley, Rachel Weisz cast somewhat against type; its not le Carré but its close enough to be fun. Ralph Fiennes doing a fun rip on Tony Blair (sort of).

The Crossing. A new ABC sci-fi drama thing. It smells a little of "The Terminator" sprinkled with Star Trek TOS episode "Space Seed." There's a small coastal town run by a sheriff (Steve Zahn) who investigates the sudden washing ashore of hundreds of drifting, dead bodies. Problem is, there is no record of a shipwreck or anything else. He alerts the authorities, and it turns out there are about 47 survivors, who each tell the same story: they are refugees from the future, who have traveled through time to escape a group of futuristic genetically enhanced super baddies. Another problem is, some of them just MIGHT have made it through as well.
Looks promising so far. But this is one of those kinds of shows that could deteriorate quickly. We will see....

The penultimate episode of Counterpart. It's all beginning to make a terrible kind of sense.

Britannia, good historical/fantasy, Altered Carbon, Sci-fi, based on the book of the same name...interesting technology, and I second The Crossing and Counterpart, both are excellent watching so far...

Krypton. Set two centuries before superman's birth, it's the hitherto untold story of Seg-El, Kal-El's grandfather, and his fight for justice on his homeworld after the El Family is shamed and cast out from Krypton society.
The show treats the Superman mythology with lots of love and care and a deep attention to detail. Lots of interesting characters that devotees of the comics will delight in saying...'oh yeah, that must be X's grandmother'... and the appearance of an 1950's superhero who obviously has a major role to play in the show. And when the big bad finally shows up, he owes his appearance to the newer superman comics. Overall the first episode was great storytelling, here's hoping it stays the course. |

Attention all HUMANS fans(the channel four sci-if series) will be returning for a third series in May, having begun shooting last September.
Finished watching the fourth series of The Librarians but it appears it has been cancelled by Turner Broadcasting-however Dean Devlin, one of the producers has said that he will try and get another broadcaster to back it-watch this space. |

I've got the first season, but I haven't yet started to watch it. Out of curiosity, how would you rate it against Warehouse13? The fifth season was pretty lame and by then I was really tired of the annoying Pete Latimer thing.
Also started watching Sneaky Pete. Another great TV series I knew not wot of. Last edited by Sir Honkers; March 24th, 2018 at 10:21 AM.. |

It was a classic will-they-won't they scenario in the end and YES they did. However it s a shame he didn't get paired with that beautiful vet he fell for. I think the chemistry between Pete and her was good starting off as more brother & sister relationship and then having something more developing - a bit like Fynn and Eve in The Librarians(no spoliers from me) but Warehouse 13 was very good but I thought Eureka!(aka A Town Called Eureka!) was better and had some lovely ladies in it.
