frequent need to re login
I don't have problems logging in, but it is annoying how often I need to re login to this site. What is it, like every 15 minutes? I use another forum (not going to say the name) that is similar, and once you log in, you don't need to keep re logging in all the time, what is up with this with this? thanks

When you log in, have you clicked the 'Remember me' box?
I used to have similar problems, but that usually cures it. Hope this helps.

I was trying to start a thread in the Classic Movie I.D. Request forum as I'm looking for a vintage adult film's title. I got an error message saying that I don't have access to do this. I've been a member here for many years. What did I do wrong?

Avatar Size Issue
I apologize if this is kind of a dumb question with an obvious answer that I'm just not seeing somewhere, even after researching it on here.
I've tried to upload different avatars, but most of them do not work for various reasons, and I'm just trying to understand why or how my avatar uploading is different from others I've seen on this board. When I try to upload a photo from my computer, I first make sure it's below 10 kb in size, but I'm told it doesn't fit the "100 x 100" dimension limits, although I've seen others on here with avatars that are "100 x 120" or "100 x 150" even. If I try and upload a photo through an image hosting service I receive an error page. Any help in understanding what I'm (probably) doing wrong or how other users are able to have larger avatar sizes would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you! |

Hybridneo,
Avatar size increases with member rank. So a senior member, vintage member veteran member, moderator, senior moderator or admin, will all have increasingly slightly larger avatars available to them. As you gain member rank, you will find that larger avatars will be available to you. I fit my avatar to the pixel size, the KB size usually sort of looks after itself I have found. Good luck. And don't get disheartened! Hope this helps.

To be honest, I kind of had a hunch that it worked sort of the way you described, I just couldn't find any documentation that actually laid it all out like you did. I don't generally have an issue fitting a picture down to under 10 kb, it's making it "100 x 100" or smaller which is the problem - really limits the clarity of an avatar unless you crop the photo to be very small. But such is life at the bottom of the user totem pole. Thanks again! |
