Ok, I know England is centuries behind the times, doesn't have a real Constitution, and has trouble understanding democracy with its rigged electoral system

But if Brexit doesn't teach them a serious lesson... well, you know...

I think we all find views that we disagree with to be somewhat ridiculous; stupid even. But not worth calling someone silly names.

It's something you'd hear in German. I guess du Nudel doesn't translate well into English except maybe as you crazy guy but in a friendly manner. However, Nudel is also a slang for cock but I'd leave any further explanations to palo5.

About ~ 37 % absolutely, 51,9 % relatively, of the registered voters voted for the Brexit by a turnout of about 72.2 %.

In GB a compulsory voting like in Belgium doesn't exist (what might be a pity) so what do you want with your remark "Actually, it isn't democracy"?
In my opinion it has been , also if I don't like it's result.

Sorry Palo5... but that's democracy... and in that kind of case, democracy sucks.

@Pushbear69

I agree with Palo5, about the results do not really represent the point of view of ALL the potential electorate.

That was a very interesting point exposed by the French Party "La France insoumise" during the last French election.

If an election or a votation do not have at least 50.00001% of participation or when the white bulletin is majoritary, the election or votation is considered to null and the candidates have to change or the law has to be rewritten.

And that's correct. Look at the US Presidential... they vote in the middle of the week... when all the working poors are working.
The results do not represent all the electorate.

In France it was almost the same... Macron get 43.6% of the total French electorate and not 66.1% and Marine Le Pen only get 22.3% and not 33.9% and 34% of the population didn't vote for them.
Macron only represent 43,6% of the French population. Is he really the President of the French people?
Sorry but 66.4% of the French people do not consider him as their President.

THE BIG QUESTION is: what do mean the white and the null votes and what means the abstention?

Is it legitimate to push a potential majority of the citizen in a way that they maybe didn't really want.

I can't follow your argumentation.

Britain don't have a compulsory voting like it is Belgium. So the the British can't forced to go to a vote. In Belgium/Luxembourg you will have to pay a fine (100... 250 EUR), if you doesn't appear at the election office. One is free -of course- to leave a blanc vote, but one has to appear. So good or so bad, it's up to your taste.

If a voter now is deciding: "I care a nut of this voting result" and is absent, he is counted as a non-voter. That happened at 27,8 % of the registered voter at the Brexit poll. So the turnout of this vote was relatively high.

So the absolute number of the voters (leave/remain) doesn't count in a vote which is having no compulsory voting, but the relative number of voters.

Those who said before "I care a nut of this voting result" are having no right to construct any adventurous conspiracy theories. I call it "to reopen the subject".

Have you noticed that some, if not all, of the veracious anti-Brexit rhetoric in this thread emanates from non-British people? It's as if the globalists are telling us what and how to think. They seem so aggrieved that Brexit is about regaining national sovereignty, opposition to Common Purpose, opposing the Frankfurt School and fighting against The Kalergi Plan. All of these are actively on the EU agenda.

The European Union with it's open door policy. This scenario is repeated over and over again.
