The Firken Version (Fiesta)
Well, someone had to start a thread about him.
Anyone got any scans of the comic strip from Fiesta? |

Re: The Firken Version (Fiesta)
This is the earliest "Firkin Version" strip I can find...before this there was just a page of jokes with a pic of Firkin the cat! These pics are taken from Fiesta 15/01 (1981)...

He did another comic called 'They call me Puss Puss' for one of the other Galaxy mags, I think it might have been Electric Blue, but I'm not sure. Anyway, that was good. Then there was one called 'Bob and the Boss' that Hunt did for Fiesta Black Label, but I've never read any of those, so scans would be nice if anyone has back issues! |

He did a short comic book that was available in libraries a good few years ago - I think it was to encourage reading - When i find it i'll scan it or take some photographs of it.

I've bought loads of Hunt Emerson books on eBay fairly cheaply over the last ten years or so, but back issues of Fiesta, Black Label, Electric Blue and Razzle are pretty hard to find and pretty pricey if you're looking to buy all of the issues that Hunt drew comics for - it's probably into thousands of pounds I reckon. The other thing is that I don't know exactly which issues of Electric Blue, Fiesta Black Label and Razzle he did strips for. I know that he's been doing Firkin for Fiesta since 1980, though. He even put out a Firkin book in 2002 with all hundreds of strips in it, but he hasn't done another one since. Anyhow, thanks again for the offer of scanning that book that encourages reading, but it's one I've got. |

Another one of Hunt's to watch out for, is the contribution he made to "Outrageous Tales Of the Old Testament" where he details the Book of Leviticus, absolutely hilarious and irreverently. I also have his take on "The Rime of The Ancient Mariner" which leaves no pun unspoken

Yeah, 'Tales from the old testament' and 'Rhyme of the ancient mariner' are hilarious!
I'd also recommend Hunt's take on 'Lady Chatterley's Lover' and 'Casanova's Last Stand' to anyone who likes Firkin and his other erotic stuff. I'm guessing that nobody has any scans of his 'Bob and the boss' comic from Fiesta Black Label? |
