Can depend on which browser your using

I believe Internet explorer is one of few that actually shows dead pics with the red cross still where as the rest wont even alert you to them.

Theres always a chance that besides the imagehost being slow theres an isue with an add-on or anti-virus or security suite your using

Wasnt long ago a few have said ad-block-plus was the cause of imagebam not loading

As with all these hosts never assume all of a host is down because they use a lot of servers to house everything.Typically if one server is overloaded by demand pics will be inaccessible but others quite possibly wont be.

I've been downloading ImageVenue galleries from posts made recently and I find that on average one image is missing from each post. If I'm lucky I can Google Reverse Image Search the missing picture from the thumbnail, but it's annoying to have to try and do this for every post. I could PM the poster but that would just be tedious for two people, and seems over the top; and the one time I did PM someone - a well-known, prolific poster - with a similar request they ignored me. But as a completist I find it hard just to accept not having a picture whose thumbnail I can see in front of me, and which is from a post made a couple of days ago - don't people check to see the upload has gone correctly? Has anyone else had this problem and what do they do about it?

They've been doing that for the past few years

Even when you check the thumbnails after uploading and getting the the bbcode
no guarantees

Its so random there is no fool proof solution

I check my small uploads and occasionally there will be a dead pic in the initial upload
Sometimes is doesnt happen for weeks then every upload for a week will have one

Google image search on the adult version is far better than a PM imho as you may well find its available elsewhere in a higher resolution,in greater numbers etc.

PS just downloaded 5 pics manually - all worked fine

Then downloaded them via imagehostgrabber altogether and 1 went missing

Anyones guess as to why but it proves the issue isnt always at the hosts end

I have a continuing problem with Imagebam. When I open images from there, about 50% will not open - I get the rest of the page, adverts, url codes, etc - but no picture. Reloading the page almost never helps. It's not particular sets - in any set I choose to look at at least some will not display. It's probably me (I'm technically incompetent). Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong?

More info needed regarding Your PC: do You have a recent PC? from about 2007, older or younger ? Do the the other 50% of the images load very slow ? Your system might not capable of handling large files downloading or opening. You might try this: just click on the open field with the right mouse button, etc.: can You save the image?

A question regarding ImgBox. As I'm sure some have notice ImgBox has been down for at least the last two days. Currently all links to them generate this message:

Migration
We are currently migrating all files to a new location. Until the migration is completed imgbox will be in read-only mode.

We expect the migration to be completed by Sunday 8PM CET.

We suggest the image host ImageBam as temporary alternative.

I am personally aware of several other large sites that are in the process of banning ImgBox because of this downtime combined with the company's silence in response to queries when previously they were prompt in working with users to solve problems. Is VEF also considering banning ImgBox? While I don't use them I'm sure some here do and may want to know.

It's not been suggested or discussed. Imgbox has been a very popular host on VEF, ban it and every Imgbox link that has ever been posted on the forum ceases to work because the word Imgbox in the URL's would be replaced by ******. That would wipe out a huge chunk of the forum.

Using firefox browser and when i click on any imgbox link, firefox freezes, downloads end.
Will have to try to remember to look at what pics are uploaded to.
