We can but dream this side of the pond! My current rate with Virgin, I have a house in the UK that I do not eve live in! Is just short of £30! Our charges are and always have been far higher than the US, would be interesting to get an idea of other countries pricing!

By the way, I keep the broadband because family use the house and I need it on the rare occasions I am there! Twice last year!!!

Just make trouble.

In fact Virgin may be able to use you as a poster boy for the rest of your village.

May not work but definitely worth a try.
When Virgin went live, we had a rep come round with some good introductory offers etc. I explained about being lovked in with BT for almost a year and he sai if it was 3 months (ish) they`d probably do a buyout for me, but not at that length of time.

So, I`ve taken a screenshot of said page that states I can get it and gone through theier complaints page and written a pretty nasty email about the situation and their false and misleading advertising. I accused them of sending the mailshot as they knew Virgin were in the area and mopping up customers who want/need better speeds etc. Went through the usual motions of passing the information on to ofcom, my MP and the usual channels due to misleading advertising and have said they should either cancel my contract without penalty or supply the advertised fibre connection. Either option would be acceptable.

basically awaiting their reply now. May not get me anywhere, but I enjoyed writing the email

If you all truly want to experience pain, move to Hull or thereabouts, where one broadband company has a complete monopoly. They offer a piss-poor service at stupidly inflated prices, and if you complain, their response is more or less "In your face! You're a daft herbert for living here!". I've lived in various parts of the UK, and I've never known incompetent crapitude like it.

Assuming our speeds and reliability are comparable and that the current rate of exchange is two Australian dollars to the pound, that's only five quid a month more you're paying for the same service.

Well

Got that thing on the right yesterday,
Took if for a burn down the Great Ocean Road today, pretty good all round I'll admit, not a bad power output for a gay 4 cylinder , dare I call it a motorl, but

What annoyed me today

I could have sworn I heard the words "Slow down, Idiot "

I ignored it as I thought I was hearing things Until I heard the words "You'll make your own dinner tonight "

Wifey has got you scared shitless. You'll have to take your new Ford when she is not around and speed down the Great Ocean Road at 120 mph, but watch out. At that speed you car might break an engine rod.
