Moore knows many things (the art of relentless self-publicity, and creating a personal brand being two of them - and, occasionally, how to make a great documentary) but he is no oracle. He 'predicted' Obama would lose in 2012. Last edited by frank07; May 3rd, 2018 at 08:37 AM.. |

"Hillary Clinton probably could have beaten Carter in 1980."
It's doubtful Hillary could beat anyone, anytime for the job. Even an incompetent Carter. Her entire political platform stating that she is a woman is simply not good enough in any age and for any clear thinking American voter. Still, she'd manage to blame a dozen other things for the reason she lost, just as she is doing today. |

FOOT - SHOT ?
[QUOTE]WASHINGTON -- President Trump no longer denies knowledge of a payment made to Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about affair she says she had with him years before he became president. Mr. Trump denies the affair.
Trump's version of events related to the payment began changing after a late night television appearance by one of his newest legal advisers, Rudy Giuliani. 1:- Quote:

All this 'playground whispering' that changes day-by-day as new mates side with the bully and old and ex-mates ....start reconsidering ? ? Is a downward spiral. Does Giuliani hate Trump ? Hardly ~ so has this latest big-dick, alpha-male on Trump's legal team...gone too far ? Or have we the reached the Statler and Waldorf stage ? * Two elderly and grouchy gentlemen who constantly heckle the Muppets from the audience, specifically from an upper balcony box on The Muppet Show. He claimed he bought the shares because, as a shareholder, he had an automatic right to attend and disrupt shareholder meetings. There is no record of him doing this. The shares made him a small fortune when he cashed out. |

Trump's approval rating has hovered around 40% and has actually ticking upwards the last couple of weeks. Nancy Pelosi and several other septuagenarians and octogenarians are standing firm against the pleas of party members desperate to see new leadership. Moore might very well be right, but it is hard to envision the semi-good economy rolling on for another 3 years with all the bombs ticking away. I was just reading today about the amount of over leverage in the corporate bond market.

We have seen a lot of volatility in the market, which means that knowledgeable investors know that corrections are coming. Here's a little tidbit. https://www.economist.com/news/busin...m_term=2018052 |

BUT you have to admit that he defends nice notions. (Peace, equality, etc...) Yesterday I watched his "Where to invade next?" film in Spanish on youtube (I didn't find the original version). I don't know if you watched it, but it's fun. He has a good sense of humor. He travelled all around European countries to depict the best social notion in each of them. Honestly, when he described to his European interlocutors, how are treated American people in comparison to the European ones, they all are surprised. As European citizen, after watching his film, I think that socially speaking, you are hardly exploited and badly treated by your plutocracy. You have to revolt pacifically to live like European people. If you didn't watch it, take the time to watch it and tell me if he told bullshits or not to us. One of the worst fact is the American education. He went to Finland where the education system is considered by everybody to be the best in the world. And what do we learn by Finnish teachers? That they took American concepts created by American scientists, but never used in the USA. What a shame for American children and society. Last edited by Roubignol; May 4th, 2018 at 02:27 PM.. |

I haven't seen that one, but I will. Thanks for the recommendation. McMoore is funny - sometimes hilarious - and his documentaries are very entertaining, and sometimes moving (Sicko is my favorite). But what he did to Charlton Heston (who campaigned for Civil Rights when it could have cost him his career - an inconvenient fact McMoore didn't mention) in Bowling for Columbine was wrong. That always sticks in my craw whenever I find myself warming to McMoore. |
