There is an underclass in all major industrial societies and both the perpetrators and the victims of violent and acquisitive crime are over-represented in the underclass level. Racism is certainly at play when black people are over-represented in the bottom strata of society. How it works though is a little bit more complicated than some people think. Removing the images of black people from police TV and from fictional crime stories is a form of lying and denying; it doesn't alter reality, but merely sweeps uncomfortable problems under the carpet. Broken families, drug use, poor educations, music which glorifies thug life, etc. I recall videos of family members of a dead burglar saying "How else was he going to buy new clothes for school?" Having people look at you closely because you are from a race eight times more likely to commit crimes can't help either.

I recall Dave Chappelle saying he lived in a very nice neighborhood now. The only other black person who lived in it was another famous black entertainer. He pointedly stated his nearest neighbor was a dentist - that you only had to be a white dentist to live there but if you are black you had to be highly successful in your field. I was thinking that if "normal" blacks started to move there, everyone, including the famous blacks, would participate in "white flight."

The two words that are used to curb our freedom more than anything these days and it's the biggest weapon in the lefties arsenal. Hate speech. If you've noticed how quickly that is thrown around by the left for anything that they don't like. Well now Google has called in 'experts' to decide what needs banning. Not really. It was the fact that I couldn't be bothered to answer you and chose to point out that a certain demographic could be disproportionately responsible for illegal acts.

Ironically, I've just watched the first episode of a series called Hell On Wheels. During it a slave gets killed for taking a drink without the overseers permission. To me, that evoked real racism that was perpetrated in the USA, not black actors not winning oscars. Not because certain tv shows don't have enough black actors. It's a common theme to shout about racism as it is to shout sexism and homophobia. Too many of lifes normal situations are being attacked in the name of equality.
My first boss was Jamaican. I worked for him for 11 years. He disliked Asians, as did many of the other Jamaicans I worked with. Is that ever talked about.
I'll go back now and enjoy my white privilege.

It apparently was a black man who stole it. I can just imagine Chris Rock doing a rant on this particular thief. lol
