The retro week has reinforced my theory - bigger tits are what Page 3 is about. When you look at what The Star serves up in 2018, it really is enough to make you reach for the tissues ( to wipe away the tears , rather than what perving at Marshy’s tits would require)

Thinking back (I'm an old fart who first started to take a real interest in Page 3 as a teen at the end of the 70's/beginning of the 80's) as I remember, there weren't all that many girls with bigger tits on Page 3 until the likes of Joanne Latham in the late 70's and particularly Sam Fox when she came on the scene in about 1984- If you look at a lot of the 70's Page 3 favourites, a lot of them were fairly petite-to-medium-sized. Even Linda Lusardi, my personal all-time favourite, and pretty widely regarded as one of the most popular girls ever on Page 3, was only about a C-cup.

It's funny how personal preference has an effect on how you view what's gone in the past.... I was born 1970, so my teens began a few years behind those of Historian, meaning Sam Fox was already alongside Linda Lusardi battling for the votes of the nation, & a 16yr old Linzi Dawn still a few years on for that Sport bog roll rag.

But as much as I loved the P3 battles, I was equally enthralled by the 'Ladette' phase where many of the young soap actresses, tv presenters, singers, all got their kit off for the lads mags & tabloids. Denise Van Outen & Gail Porter showing off their nipples through sheer tops; Tracy Shaw baring bush through hr knix while still starring in Corrie; & Dannii Minogue also helping to draw me into a lifelong passion for her own bodily parts & neat bush via many lads mag appearances & calendars.

The thing I also recall annoying me was the seemingly endless tease from Lucy Pinder, where she'd pose solo or often with the happily nip baring Marshy, while keeping her own covered up. When she finally bared them I wasn't half as impressed as I thought I should've been having been made to wait that long. I still resent her for that to this day & find her more of a turn off than turn on. Leilani Dowding I can also never fancy, but not to do with her body or lack of nudity, both of which you can't fault; it was purely down to seeing her doing some bts documentary where she came across, to me at least, as a total bitch & diva for little reason or need to be that way with the people she was working with.

Whatever the personal preference, the mid eighties and mid noughties were the peak of Page 3, in some respects particularly the latter where we saw a host of lad mags grace the shelves and The industry exploded. The common factor being big tits, shamelessly whipped out for the lads, by cheeky little teasers who were using what they got, to forward a career.

This is why I can never understand The Star for example, seemingly failing to opt for anything about a c cup. Look at Chelsea Jones, another stunning Big titted cutie who arrived a little too late, when the industry was already on the slide.
