Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard - To Marry Gay or Not To Marry Gay

I've heard that Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are waiting until gay marriage is legal in California before getting married. (They have apparently been engaged for at least two years now.)

Setting aside the joke about they have to wait for it to be legal for Dax to get married, this strikes me as a bad sign for their relationship. If you are really in love and care about someone, you don't delay your wedding for a political statement. That's saying that the person you are claiming to love is less important than the opinions of a bunch of people they've never met and never will meet.

There's also the issue of "actions speak louder than words". They may say they're in love but their actions (delaying marriage for at least two years and counting) say otherwise. Now some of you may say they act like they're in love but they are actors and spend their lives in the public eye. Being in the public eye all the time can mess with one's mind, cause emotional problems, warp one's behavior. And being an actor means they have the skills and training to act normal, act like they're in love, etc.

They may also be in denial, caught in a loop of "I'm supposed to love them, so I must love them even if it doesn't feel like it" and/or "I'll fake it until it comes true".

So, opinions? Rants? Snide comments?
