I've always considered Christmas planning before Hallowe'en to be in somewhat poor taste.

I used to like the build up to Xmas more so than the actual thing. I liked the decorations, the songs, the cheerful faces you see in the run up. The actual event was a bit of a damp squib because its one day and gone. After that everyone seems sad and bored again. The problem is I am liking it less and less because its now starting earlier and earlier. I think 3 months is far to early to be getting things ready and it should be at the earliest the beginning of November, maybe even the middle of Nov. |

Detention, corporal punishment, lines etc all a complete waste of time it just made kids resent adults in authority later in life, or at least the kids I knew at school. The problem is today's children get away with murder in classrooms because teachers cannot discipline them otherwise they get slapped with any manner of lawsuits from the parents and head teachers have to balance what is enough to keep unruly kids quiet and what constitutes abuse. It is up to the teacher to keep discipline but they are can't because their hands are tied. We are bringing up a load of namby-pamby, pampered and unruly children these days. I remember being at school and some unruly kids at the back of the class suddenly felt a sharp pain-the teacher had lost his temper and thrown two pieces of chalk and the blackboard rubber across the room-we would not have dared cheek the teacher back then - ah those were the days!
Where has Summer gone? Who knows, perhaps it is true that as we get older the years seem to go alot faster although I always find October the longest month of the whole year and it drags to November. My own personal view is that Christmas should be banned from shops until mid November-to have things in store(unless you are a major chain store or department store who have to prepare months in advance) like mince-pies three months before is crazy. Don't you just hate those people who say "Oh, I've done all my Christmas shopping so I don't have to worry this year!" And these are probably the same people that promised themselves that it wouldn't be the same this year as last year when Uncle Frank snored through the Queen's Speech, Auntie Freda criticised your Brussel Sprouts and you argued over who gave you the naff present, the pudding was burned to a crisp and the kids ran riot Happy Days! One of the most noticeable things this weekend has been my father and I suspect millions of other Yahoo users have been unable to access their e-mails because the system was attacked by outside hackers and no-one's password is being recognised. Has that happened to you?

And today, we've seen members of the Labour Party demonstrating their truly superb grasp of economics and showing everyone how simple it would be to put the country right and end austerity. Great stuff - if you like this kind of crackpot fantasy!

Anyone else notice the shadow Defence Secretary had his speech edited minutes before he gave it ?
I saw this on Channel 4 news & it didn't surprise me one bit, a typical Corbyn control-freak trick Clive Lewis had that face too The moment he is informed is captured here.. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/trident-row-hits-labour-as-shadow-defence-secretary-s-speech-is-spiked-a7331151.html |

Proving of course that defence is in safe hands! Well perhaps it is, unless Corbyn changes his mind and disarms the entire country!

Yahoo 'state' hackers stole data from 500 million users
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-37447016 "The breach included swathes of personal information, including names and emails, as well as “unencrypted security questions and answers”. The hack took place in 2014 but has only now been made public. In the UK it is believed data on about eight million user accounts was taken in the hack." 2014 and they are only just alerting users now I thought these techy dicks were the ones always advising us how to be secure online, seems they need a few refresher courses themselves. I've just changed my Sky password but Yahoo who do their e-mail do not inspire me with any real confidence that nothing has been taken. Yahoos are legendary beings in the novel Gulliver's Travels (1726) by Jonathan Swift. Swift describes them as being filthy and with unpleasant habits .... just saying
