Students in the industry declining
Living in a student city you always got a good number working in the industry but over the last few years they seem to be declining in number.
Is it just me seeing this? |

Thank God it's the weekend...
Well, there are a few things that I can think of, but it depends on what you mean by "industry" and where you live.
From what I've learned, there is a slight decline in the number of students enrolling in college.. mostly in the "for profit" sector which might explain the lack of involvement. Most of my friends in college worked outside jobs while taking courses and now have thriving careers. I think the greater question that needs to be addressed is how graduates are going to be able to compete with the growing advancements in technology that threaten to replace them in the workforce. Just food for thought!

I think We can all hazard a guess that the OP refers to the "Adult Entertainment" industry..

When I was at my latest year of engineering school, we visited several industries to look how was the job. It rarely was very... attractive. I'll remember until the end of my life, the comment of one of my classmate, when we were in a phone manufacturer: "This smell, this heat, if that's what it's like to become an engineer." I looked at him and laughed, laughed, laughed. It was so true. I graduated and thanks the graduation, I finally worked in a much funnier domain with greater ease than if had not my graduation. Ok the job is less paid but more playful. I don't think that the new generation is ready to work in the same conditions as our parents. Last edited by Roubignol; July 8th, 2017 at 10:47 PM.. |

They all want to go into Politics now. Easy money. Cheap bar bill. Good Pension. Fantastic Redundancy package. Lots of days off. Paid Foreign holidays. Arithmetic is not mandatary and truthfulness is optional.

Maybe some courses about the industry would help attract - any ideas on titles and lecturers?

Well, Students, guessing university students seem to like to visit pubs, bars and clubs and get drunk considering they're young and all .... so how about a course on "how to avoid anal in a gay bar"
