Married almost thirty years. We agreed that I would make all the major decisions and she would make all the minor decisions and I'm still waiting for a major decision.

From experience I would say there are downsides to this, but it beats being inconvenient.

I don't know if it was mentionned here.
But I think that a lot of women are better than men to resolve all the little problems in a family, they bother men with this but they often are more efficient. (For sure, there are exceptions...)

I was several times in the hospital when my mother was very ill and there were nurses who came at home to take care at my mother when she was at the end of her life.
Honestly speaking... there are few men who work in this sector.
And that's a difficult job. Very difficult.
And we never thank enough about all these anonymous women who clean and help people, who are at the end of their life. I had to take care of my mother... What a boring job. I don't know if I'd have been able to do this job during aaaallll my life.
These women spend their time with excrements, sadness, senility, howls, pain...
They probably get more compassion than men. Thats doesn't mean that they are more sensible. But they are here when a weak person need someone during a long time.

We also don't take care about these women (and men too, but less) who clean our hotel rooms, our offices, our shops...

There are a lot of women who are mentally very very strong and caring.

What I don't understand is why women like to complain ... then don't like it when we offer practical solutions to the problem ... ?

You offered a solution to the problem. But if you don't offer a solution that's just as bad.

It's lose/lose but they are so damn awesome!

half a million members and we all combine to know 199 things about women? More than I would have guessed.

Once a month every month most of them turn into a different person you want to stay away from.

Hmmm!

I have three sisters - but it is me caring for my mother until the bitter end. My best friend went through the same experience with both of his parents.

Women talk a good game.

^^^ A friend of mine did the same thing.

First his mother got Alzeheimer's and Dementia and he had to care for her in their home, cleared the entire living room and put a hospital bed in it.

His father helped for about a year before he also got Alzeheimer's and Dementia.

So here's is my friend (who used to be a top surgeon before he left the medical field to pursue more luctrative ventures) caring for both his parents every day, day and night, feeding them, bathing them, getting them in and out of their 2 hospital beds (he brought in another one for his Dad and put it in the den room), walking them outside to get fresh air and exercise - with him getting very little sleep every day.

There was a nursing service that he hired that came in once a day for a couple of hours each day, 5 days a week, to help him so he could catch some sleep but only if his parents weren't acting up from Dementia (getting violent, throwing things, breaking things, screaming and yelling incomprehensible things) and the nurse was able to handle both of them by herself which many times it wasn't the case.

He wouldn't put them in a care center because he said they will just pump his parents full of drugs and leave them bedridden to suffer.

He did that for a total of 4 years caring for both his parents until they passed away within a month of each other!

No help from his 2 sisters who also lived in the same city just a few miles away.

In those 4 years they only went to see their parents twice and they were more concerned about who is going to get what, since their parents were from wealthy oil families.

After his parents passed away, the will was executed and I guess his father had hindsight about his daughters and he left everything to my friend and his brother.

My friend said his parents passed away at the right time, yes I know it sounds cruel, but a year after they passed away, they had the big flood and his parents' home was flooded for the first time during the entire time it existed since it was build 50 years ago: 5 feet of water on the inside up.

He said he can't imagine what would had happened if his parents were still alive when the flooding occured.
