No I get that but he seemed to be expressing the opinion that Jesus could be seem as something special but as I pointed out, if what the Bible says he said is factual he said so many contradictory things almost anything could be interpreted from his claims (& often is).

Assuming Christ existed - and I have read some well considered opinion that suggests he didn't, it is probable that he was little more than a Jewish political activist. All the later Harry Potter stuff written by unknown individuals was carefully contrived (IMHO) to enhance the story as its potential became increasingly obvious. At that time the world was filled with illiterate peasants and even the sharpest minds had no idea if the world was flat or the stars in the night sky were gods. The birth of Christianity was a great story and almost impossible to challenge until very recent times. The same can be said for pretty much every other religion.

That's why I put him in inverted commas. "According to him" = a reported speech.

The 'what' is the point I keep making but seems to go over believer's heads again & again - Faith is not a reliable path to truth. It allows corrupt institutions such as the Catholic Church & TV Evangelists to exploit the gullible so they can & do milk them for every single penny they've got & that's extremely damaging to everyone in the big picture.

Probably not but if the words attributed to him are true he did promote the idea that faith is a good thing & it's not. It's a bad thing. Apart from religion what other belief is considered valid based on totally unsupportable extraordinary claims? We've stopped burning so called "witches" at least in the developed West (there's still some of that sort of thing occurring in Africa though). I can't think of much but people still defend faith as somehow valuable but how could it be?
