If I'm not mistaken somebody, who calls him/herself Flo, is running ImageBam at least. Can anybody having been in contact with Flo ask him/her what the reason is? Assumed that copyright holders had become more aggressive all other file hosts could be affected/threatened too.

Nearly all of my pics (10,000s) posted the past ten years were stored on ImageBam. It will be impossible to reupload all of them.

RIP IB, it was fun while it lasted.

Request to the Mod staff:
Please don't remove dead posts for the next few months. Otherwise it would be impossible to reupload lost pics to an alternative image host - if we ever find a similar (previously) reliable one .

I have posted a notice concerning this as you can see. We will be leaving posts in place for the foreseeable future so that members who are able to reup have the opportunity to do so.

We have no recommendations on possible replacements for these pichosts at this time. If we can come up with something, we will, of course, try to inform members of this asap.

Sorry but we have been caught off guard by this issue just like everyone else as we had no advance warning either.

FYI to all concerned. Forums such as VEF cannot have any direct involvement with any sort of content hosting service and we will continue to have this stance due to the potential of serious legal issues occurring that could result in the forum being shut down. Any suggestions that VEF could set up a service to even host content temporarily until a viable solution is found cannot be considered at all.

Hate to say it but

Anywhere the large set big size posters are not going that doesnt show up as ****
or perform woefully - imgtiger for example , pimpandhost still blocked about 6 countries etc

Imagebam & Imgbox were allowing up to 10MB a file last time i looked


Imagevenue is about 3MB (requires adobe flash - some browsers like firefox have it permanently disabled as i just found out)

Apart from the hack they've been solid for a long long time
Their gallery set-up is something you get used to

We have 3 weeks - i'd suggest rather than members go on and on about how bad it is

Downloaders - save what you value highly and dont rely on uploaders to restore them once their dead.Download managers like image host grabber and the like can catch an entire thread in very quick time even 1 post at a time.

Uploaders - Take an inventory of what you've posted using the 2 hosts gallery format
The gallery format on imagebam using screenshots will be far more valuable a blueprint than the vef search engine of googles domain search

Windows 7 has a snipping tool or software like light lightshot as a standalone or firefox browser extension does something similar


Last - dont panic or fret - come 30.6.17 stuff will disapear but thats nothing new

Its happened in the past on numerous occasions with filehost dieing (freeimagehost.eu 2007) , VEF cluster crashses , occasional hacks , mis-firing host inaccessible P& h
Imagebam offline for 6 weeks - thats before you get to the filehost debacles


Typically it isnt just those who uploaded the content first that end up re-upping it

In the end it is only erotica not life and death


PPS - torrent freak story says their closing for legal issues that dates back to a court case reported in 11/2016 - not unsustainable usage

Sure. But things could be done - even if it would be by users. VEF in its current state isn't 100% legal at all. I know that you'd don't want to host stuff as this is where it gets complicated. But you couldn' really block it.

For instance: If I could programm a good script and had enough of NAS space I could easily go through all threads and dump all bam images and then give Mods or selected members access to my filestorage. VEF couldn't even actually block it, even if they wanted to. Only IP or clientname and so on - but this can be also changed on the clientside.

Getting a backup of those pics should still be a considered option. They can be treated as private. And it could be later discussed how you utilize this data in way that doesn't cause legal problems. But rare stuff would be saved. So there might be somebody here who has the ressouces for it. If VEF condones it - good. If VEF does not - doesn't really matter. At least you can't blame VEF. The option still exists. It is technically not very complicated.
So discussing is IMO helpful as there might be some members who could do this.

VEF has no issues whatsoever with anything that members of the forum do on their own. What I am stating is that we (staff) would not be able to offer assistance when it comes to what members do including assistance with server space.......

The thumbs it's made for me are 180x. Imgbox thumbs were 150x & they were OK. Certainly better than hosts that don't have thumbs or whose thumbs are too big.

I haven't tested the gallery side of things yet, but it allowed me to upload images into galleries.

I hope this helps others. I am still kind of in shock thinking about all the thousands of imagebam posts that I will have to re host (at least I backed them all up). It's going to take a hell of a long time to re up the posts.

I don't suppose that there is a global way that the Mods could replace all imagebam posts with imagevenue
