Unfortunately the new battleground seems to be partially nobbling the hostsfile &
hijacking browser searches which gets you exposed to all manner of bad sites.

You might benefit from trying these 3 small programs

Some infections unfortunately fool a lot of security software paid and free

Even though I don´t use this pic-hoster in general, I just have made a try and upped 15 pics to them.

It all went very smoothly

Upped from a German IP, using Firefox

BTW: where did you get the info related to the suspension from?
.

Default Imagebam Aggressive Ads/Redirects

In the last weeks ImageBam has built a new system to deliver ads that quite breaks image viewing. They are forcing a 301/302 HTTP redirect after a few tenths of second from the page of our image without making us choose.
I would like to ban it.

Admin could ban imagebam and kill half the forum or
you could use an ad-blocker

I know which is more likely to happen

Using internet explorer - CHANGE to an alternative browser
They've always been behind the stopping modern pop-unders let alone pop-ups
not to mention their a major security risk what ever version your using

All the major browsers are mentioned here with what add-ons to use
for everything from security to privacy including blocking ads

Anonym zu www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-harden-your-browser-against-malware-and-privacy-concerns.htm

Personally firefox / palemoon with

ad-block-plus 2.6.4
ad-block plus pop up add-on 0.9.2
no script - only allowing imagebam

Kills them all

Tutorial of sorts with multiple suggestions

I have been using Palemoon for the last year or so, and have found it wonderful. Much better than IE, which was often problematical.
I have Addblock plus, which keeps out most things, thankfully, which makes browsing a much better experience.
My only fault, which is probably my own lack of knowledge with computers, is that the Addblock plus has turned off Javascript, which is a good thing, but most sites seem to require Javascript to run properly.
Unfortunately, the 'How to enable Javascript' help site doesn't seem to work with Palemoon.

Oh well, it is a small price to pay for having the benefits of the Addblock installed!

Firefox/Palemoon and Addblock plus

Ok you are right, maybe my reaction has been a little extreme.

I haven't been using IE for years, only Chrome and Firefox.
I am not against ads and pop-ups.
An ad blocker can do a little against redirects because these ones are done with server side scripts not with JavaScript.
