Don't forget that a fry-up isn't a fry-up until it's washed down with a large mug of tea! If you want baked beans they absolutely have to be Heinz (ditto tomato ketchup) - accept no substitute!

A friend at work who is originally from Birmingham loves his dripping sandwiches. Now there's a nice bit of English cuisine

Now this grilled/toasted/fried cheese sandwich is something that should clog your arteries, but I'd be willing to risk it as it looks absolutely mouth watering

If you fry some onion in the pan before adding the beans, that is really nice. (Leave the onion in with the beans, I mean.)

The strange thing is we had this discussion about beans over on the food thread a while ago and as brianwp pointed out Heinz is an American company and the baked beans in tomato sauce which we associate as being British, is actually American and readily available there.
I love cheesy beans. They have to be done in the pan not the micro and add grated cheese while heating up. Serve with hot buttered toast and dunk the toast in rather than serving the beans on the toast. By the way, this whole thread is more or less duplicated on GS's excellent food thread.

Fry-Up
If you add some vegetables to this you'll get what we call 'Bubble and Squeak'.

Anybody like fry up day old mashed sprouts and mashed potato with their fried lunch? Dont forget to serve the whole lot with Brown Sauce ( Like Steak Sauce for our US friends) HP Daddies Tiger and my personal favourite ... Hammonds of Yorkshire famous 'chop' Sauce, which is now made in Lancashire of all places. |

Ok, I give up. Just what the hell does "no longer a virgin" have to do with cooking? I'm befuddled, here. Fuddle, fuddle, fuddle. See?
