It appears that I'd hafta dodge stuff like this with my boat.

But, apparently, I'd be thrilled about it!

Giant rubber duck thrills Sydney Harbor
Sydney Festival's giant Rubber Duck installation, Darling Harbour, Australia on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2013. This is the latest incarnation of artist Florentijn Hofman's famous oversized toy which measures 15m high and 18m wide and has been commissioned especially for this year's Sydney Festival.

There are hundreds of Australian beers. Almost all of them are better than Fosters. If you want to try a good mainstream Australian beer, try a Coopers, a James Boag, a James Squire or a Crown Lager.

The major brewers and beers are:

Carlton and United Breweries - VB, Crown Lager, Carlton Draught, Pure Blonde, Reschs Pilsener. CUB also make Fosters, but it's mostly for export. Crown lager is better.

Cascade Brewery - Cascade Premium Lager, Cascade Light, Mercury Cider

Castlemaine Perkins - XXXX Bitter, XXXX Gold, XXXX Light, XXXX Summer Bright Lager (XXXX is pronounded four ecks, before you ask)

Coopers Brewery - Sparkling Ale, Original Pale Ale, Best Extra Stout, Dark Ale, Mild Ale.

Hahn Brewery - Hahn Premium, Hahn Super Dry, Hahn Light, Hahn White

James Boag & Sons - James Boag's Premium, Boag's Draught,

James Squire - Amber Ale, Pale Ale, Golden Ale, IPA, Porter, Pilsener, Sundowner Lager

South Australian Brewing Company - West End Draught, Southwark Bitter

Swan Brewery - Swan and Emu

Tooheys - Tooheys New, Tooheys Old, Tooheys Extra Dry, Tooheys Red

Default Fosters Fights Flames

Well if you live in Australia better get some fire proof undies.

Four out of control fires today; Another two *(that i know of) were contained.
Tasman Penisular has the highway *(the only way) closed and last i heard earlier tonight about 80 homes lost.. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/fires-raze-80-properties-thousands-stranded/story-e6frg6nf-1226547982605

by the way, happy new year

Cool Uselss Info

What if you lived in Australia?

You'd be celebrating this Today,

Just a few facts about Oz

In 1954, Bob Hawke was immortalised by the Guinness Book of Records for sculling 2.5 pints of beer in 11 seconds. Bob later became the Prime Minister of Australia.

We have electricity, shopping malls, cars and ATMs in Australia (contrary to popular belief that we are still living in the dark ages)

Apparently the first European settlers in Australia drank more alcohol per person than any other community in the history of mankind.

We have over 6000 species of flies, about 4000 species of ants, and there are about 350 species of termites

Melbourne has the second largest Greek population in the world, after Athens

Australia has the world's largest cattle station (ranch). At 30,028 km2 it is almost the same size as Belgium.

There are more than 150 million sheep in Australia, and only some 23 million people.

Australia is home to six of the top ten deadliest snakes in the world

The worlds best internet forum has 2 Australian moderators..... Bludgers, both of them

That's true
In fact, many of the first fleet convicts were given a choice by the magistrates,
Face execution, or be deported too the new penal colony

Some of these idiots actually chose execution rather than face the voyage too the paradise.... morons, they deserved too die for being stupid
Sounds harsh by me, but if they're capable of making a decision like that, it means less idiots offspring today

Not any more, there aren't. 2012-13 estimate is 77.4 million.
Today is also India Republic Day, well done India.

We should get ourselves a more appropriate day to celebrate, how about Jan 1?

Or how about Jan 7th.?
That way maybe we can celebrate again around two weeks later.

Here's hoping this only happens once every two thousand years.
See ya at the next one.

I...along with my useless brothers (and don't get me started on my sister and sister's-in-law) would be be all out for 8 against the kids and grandkids declared at 31. Stupid backyard cricket!
After the barby we're playing backyard footy, where size and weight count for more than skill.
