Hey, this is nothing to laugh about - one of these could seriously reschedule your afternoon

Children escape from snake through window

"Eighteen children had to escape their kindergarten through a window after a deadly eastern brown snake slithered into the classroom and chased them through three rooms south of Brisbane.
The children had just finished lunch at C&K Carbrook Community Kindergarten and were lying down for a nap two weeks ago when the assistant teacher Leanne Welke screamed "snake".
Centre director Robyn Fowler was at the whiteboard of the classroom and turned around to see the snake slithering between the children's beds, which were five to 10 centimetres off the ground.
"It was in a frenzy, there's no two ways to say it, the snake was in a frenzy," she said."

Luckily, Australia has nice people called Snake Catchers who collected the snake and put it back in its desert

I had considered moving to Oz to escape Barack Obama's Utopia, apparently there is no escape from these people on this planet. Perhaps I will convert to Judaism and move to Israel.

No, I don't want to be near those animals

I'd obtain a family of these to protect me

That is true. A friend of my son, an electrician by trade, is currently working in WA, sharing three converted shipping containers with two other tradesmen. His weekly share of the rent is around $900. However, at the grand old age of twenty four he recently paid cash for a $400,000 home...so obviously what he is paying out on the swings, he is recuperating in a big way on the roundabout.
It is not as easy to get jobs over there as people imagine, but for those who do, the wages are extraordinary.

... it's true you would nearly be in the 'sweaty season' right now. Summer. Deadly spiders could nibble you in your sleep, and you could wake up with a cuddly snake in your bed. Or a kanguru licking your feet

But at least you have an honest leader!

Julia Gillard's former boyfriend and one time Australian Workers Union boss Bruce Wilson has broken his silence on the 17-year-old union slush fund saga declaring the Prime Minister has "absolutely nothing to answer for" and "did no wrong"

So please pray for this beautiful, integritiful lady - she will save you!

Why does it take 17, yes 17 years too come out and tell the truth and declare her innocent That's typical union buddies behavior here. If she was innocent, he'd have come out a long time ago and said it

Summer's here Time for fun

We've just had a week of summer weather and too welcome it, it felt like the whole country was thunderstorm after thunderstorm day after day.

I'd just spent a week in Darwin
, the humidity there is something too be experienced.... shirt is wet almost constantly

I'd heard of a condition , 'Mango Madness', where people go a bit silly because of the humidity up there

Quote:
A new study has confirmed what people in the Top End have long known - soaring temperatures and overcast skies make tempers fray.

Surgeons at Royal Darwin Hospital who analyzed fracture rates found that so-called "mango madness", - a period of extreme weather tension that triggers violence as the wet season hits - is not just a myth.

An analysis presented at a medical conference in Hong Kong today showed fracture hospitalizations were 40 per cent higher in October and November when the Northern Territory had high temperatures with constant cloud cover and no rain.
After being there I can understand why

Beautiful pics

Thunderstorms like that are rare here. We get about one a year, I think. At the moment, snow is dumping on us, and it's -14C, so if you want to chill out...

I don't understand why anyone lives in Darwin, except for work. Every time I read about it, the difficult climate is mentioned - do we have any Darwiners who can explain it?

Mango madness: the news.au article is hard to understand. I mean, I understand all the words and sentences, but why do they say that facial injuries are numerous in Darwin because of heat and lack of rain, 'and only Greenland is worse'?

Ok, maybe I didn't understand it and am just too dumb; but does it seem scientific to compare NT with Greenland?

I saw zero violence, so I can't vouch for it.
