Moreover(I like that word) most of the so-called bearded ladies were normal, rather large women, but had hair stuck to their faces. In fact I believe the great American showman P.T. Barnum got together a whole load of 'freaks' and toured around the country with them but not all of them were quite what they appeared to be.

Interesting but we know her better as Donna Ambrose. I sometimes think that models have to have a cut off time to call it a day-to go on any longer would seem like desperation-unless you intended to become the so-called MILF and continue on but that must play havoc with your body eventually.

I always hoped that Samantha Fox would re-pose for Pl*yb*y when she hit 40 as a one off, final hooray but she never did and then of course she got married to her manager. Along with Linda Lusardi they became the most successful models of all time(in this country anyway) appearing on quiz/topical shows etc, and in films or television series like The Bill (Linda played DC Maggie Lines) and Samantha fronted a weekly topical series called the Six O'Clock Show with Danny Baker, Michael Aspel and Fred Housego(a taxi cab driver who won Mastermind) in the 80s. She also became a singer with the Stock Aitken and Waterman stable. Linda did other shows and also pantomimes & launched her own range of skin products first seen on the QVC shopping channel.

Its intended purpose and destination was to be a lighthouse at the Mediterranean entrance to the Suez Canal. The Egyptians politely refused, so the French had to scuffle around for over 10 years before they finally sloughed it off on the Americans.

People who worked on pineapple plantations in Hawaii had to wear gloves as the handling of the pineapples could remove their fingerprints. Over time, due to the rind being so tough, and it was also used as a plot line in the tv series 'Hawaii Five-O'(this is according to an early episode of Q.I. letter "E for Espionage"

Pineapple juice is a very strong acid. There was a case where a ship sunk near a tropical island, the crew and passengers made it to an island nearby and lived for about 3 months on pineapples. The acid in the pineapples caused their teeth to fall out.
