Imagehost Problems, Imagebam, Imagevenue, PimpAndHost, PixHost, ImgBox etc

Imagebam requests to disable adblock. I'm on firefox but I have not adblock.
Disable or not, it does not work.

My experiences during the last days/weeks:

1. ImageBam is a f*cking desaster. Even when switching all add-ons off and using Firefox/Palemoon/Opera alternatively, I seldomly succeed to get all pics uploaded. Very often, 3 -5 pics are uploaded uncompletely. As Imagebam does not embed the original filenames in their BB-codes, it turns to be a time-consuming fiddling to bring picture-sets up properly - especially a PITA if you upload larger pic-sets. Basic-Upload is no option in that particular case, even though it seems to work more reliably.

2. Imagevenue is a desaster as well because it still has this buggy arrangement of files after upload and you need to manually add spaces in order to have a proper laylout. O.K. for smaller pic-posts, not feasible for larger sets.

3. ImgBox works well (you need to switch off add-ons, though), however in general I dislike the fact that it takes incredibly long until the thumbnails are fully loaded.
Heavily annoying when you look at pages that contain larger picture-sets being hosted at ImgBox.

If a.m. problems do persist, I will consider to start posting picture-sets as zipped files. If links/files are maintained & monitored, there is no loss in content and completeness is guaranteed.
For collectors of entire sets, this is the most important requirement. None of the Image-Hosts can guarantee that.

Aha! I see the problem.

http://sharenxs.com/ works fine, whereas http://www.sharenxs.com/ does not. All the links in that post (and some others I have seen) have the 'www'.

I was getting problems uploading with imagebam ( adblock problems ) - but now it seems okay - and working fine
I would genuinely request anyone new or that wishes to post pictures in the near future -
to not use imagevenue - as that system has lost me a lot of pictures - for no reason
and I have had to convert to imagebam as its far more reliable - I have had the tiresome and long process in the last few months changing my thread pictures from imagevenue to imagebam - I would also say if you have a magazine you intend to sell , keep a copy of the pictures ( if precious to you ) and save them , just in case the server loses them . better safe than sorry
another annoying thing with imagevenue , is some pictures are visible on the old posted thread - yet when you click on them , they are ' dead ' - as I wanted to copy the photo and delete the old imagevenue picture and re-upload with imagebam

Imagebam was working properly for me when uploading pics the past few days. In my experience the message Adblock Plus breaks the upload functionality. Please disable it. seems to be "fake news" only, as I noticed no difference regardless of whether Adblock Plus was disabled or not.

However, upload speed has slowed down remarkably.

I'm using Firefox.

I can only view pics posted in threads that are hosted on Imagebam about 50% of the time & have had this problem for years. Imagevenue gives a slightly higher rate but still is never 100% viewable. Imgbox is always fine.

Theres a very simple reason why imgbox is faring better than imagevenue & imagebam

It never offered codes for individual pics

The worst aspect of this was anyone viewing a pic could use the codes where ever they wanted and did - random pic sites/blogs are full of borrowed content uploaded by others

The extra exposure is probably responsible for killing off individual pics in full imagehost posts
keeping in mind the content of VEF in the public area has been duplicated on quite a few other forums.


Going forward I'd suggest if your using a host that still offers the codes to all viewers
stop using them

Imagebam removed the option about a month ago


There are no real solutions other than using a filehost link or imagehost zipfile option
if you want everything intact

Thats before you even factor in downloading which bypasses the revenue raising ads
That alone will have unintended results

Imagebam is throwing up a dodgy link to possible bogus Daily Fitness website when you right click to save the picture.

I cannot access Imagevenue for some reason at present.

I have just signed up at imgbox. I presume they are a permitted filehost at VEF ? My apologies but I cannot find the list of permitted imagehosts. Yay or nay ?

I think it is a yay for imgbox having looked around. No adult content which won't affect me but only 150 x 150 and 200 x 200 thumbnails are available as an option around the 180 x 180 requirement. I therefore have selected the former which means the entirety of an image cannot be displayed on the thumbnail.
